Lyrics

My Poor Heart (Signature Version)

Written By: Elana Harte

The glass is empty it’s three am
And I swore I’d never let you do this to me again
And that If you did not appear before the liquid hit the bottom
We’d be done

This is the last time, no less painful than the first
But I can’t justify now that you have done your worst
So my bags are waiting for my heart and head to pick them up and run

As I lock the door and I walk away
My poor heart wishes I could stay
If you could be, would be what you say
But even my poor heart – it knows better

The taxi’s waiting, got my tickets in my hand
To put this all behind me – you’ll never find me
Bet you never thought I’d have the strength
To stand up and go on

The taste is bitter as I lock and drop the key
I pray you’ll never treat another the same way you treated me
Late night, hard fight, lingerie the wrong size
I get the picture, darlin’ – I’m not blind

As I lock the door and I walk away
My poor heart wishes I could stay
If you could be, would be what you say
But even my poor heart – it knows better

My poor heart

Heart, Soul, Song

Written By: Elana Harte

I learned to play when I was young,
To play guitar
Started with a tennis racket and a dream to take it far, yeah
I bounced around my room
Played it hard and out of tune
But I played it well

I wrote my first song while I was talking on the phone
Think I was
Driven by the need to have a tune to call my own
Something special happened then
Some kind of magic in my pen
And I was gone

Got no house
Got no car
Got no GIC’s
Got no bonds
Got no RSP’s
What I got is what I take along
My heart, my soul and my song

I’ve played in bars
I’ve played in clubs
And played for free
I’ve met great folks that I’ve adopted as my family
It gets me every time
Keeps me square between the lines
Hallelujah

Now everybody sing it
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

Got my place and my memories
What I got is what I take along
My heart, my soul & my song

Now Everybody Sing it
Hallelujah

Got no car
Got no GIC’s
Got my friends

MY OWN WOMAN

Written By: ELANA HARTE, LAURA RANIERI

Here I go
Packing up good memories
Leaving these four walls behind

We both know
I'm restless and I'm ready
To cross that great divide

I'm not that shy girl in the wings
I'm taking center stage
And cutting these strings

CHORUS:
Here I am
My own woman
Don't need nobody
To tell me who I am
Here I am
My own woman
Don't need nobody
To tell me that I can

Here I go
One last glance in the rearview
Wide open road ahead
Yes I know
Snow will soon be falling
And I'll think of you from my roadside motel bed

But I won't turn myself around
I've got the pedal down
Look at me now

CHORUS

I might get lonely sometimes
Feel like I'm losing my mind
But I've got the strength here inside
And this is my life

CHORUS
Here I am
I'm my owm woman
My own woman

No One Else Comes Close

Written By: Elana Harte & Cara Melander

Spent five years believing you were the one
Seeing you now reminds me
We should be done
You spent three years erasing me from your life
To get it right
Regret, forget means bullshit
When we’re face to face and drinking in

Chorus:
I kiss your mouth and it’s killing me
When we’re in each other’s arms, haunted by your memory
No one else comes close to this
Caught in the moment, I can’t resist
(And) No one else comes close
And I hate it
I hate it, I hate it

The question now is whether we’re destiny or it’s over
‘Cause under the covers can’t keep us together
You can’t feast on seduction or starve on desire
I’m tossing and turning. Hate sleeping – unless I’m with you

Chorus

I still need you and I hate it
I still love you and I hate it
I still need you and I hate it
I still love you and I hate it

Chorus

No one else comes close

You & Me

Written By: Elana Harte, Kim Jarrett, Melanie Peterson

You me & Harley
Escaping the night
Racing towards the desert and beyond

You gave up your diamonds
And (you) strapped on your guitar
Now The only thing that matters
Is how fast and how far

And everything that mattered
It doesn’t matter
It doesn’t matter anymore

Chorus
You and me
Holding tight in the wind and rain
No turning back ‘cause it’s never gonna be the same
You and me
With a song and the scent of the road
No looking back cause we already know
It’s so right
You and me

You be Thelma and I’ll be Louise
As we twist this up together
And do exactly as we please

Burning those photographs
Of what we left behind
Now the only thing that matters is
What’s here and what we find
Everything that mattered
Doesn’t matter any more

Chorus

This is Home

Written By: Elana Harte Heather Bambrick

Doing the dishes this morning
When the gray of the day broke me down
Guess my tears are far from done

For whatever the reason
I can still feel you around
Though I’m standing here alone

How many times did we lift up our eyes and say yes
How many times did we say our whole lives
Did we say our whole lives

Like I told you
I don’t want to hold you back
You must believe me
Whenever you want me back
Ah – this is home

Met our friends on the weekend
And they asked me how I am
Not sure what they need to know
I want to ask them about you
But I’m not really sure if I can
I know I’m not ready
Ready to just let this go

How many times did we lift up our eyes and say yes
How many times did we say our whole lives
Did we say our whole lives

Like I told you
I don’t want to hold you back
You must believe me
Whenever you want me back
Ah –

this is not about blame
Yeah, we both want the best
And we both can be happy, okay.
It’s right or it’s wrong – doesn’t matter
I want you to stay

It’s like I told you
I don’t want to hold you back
You must believe me
Whenever you want me back
It’s like I told you
I don’t want to hold you back
You must believe me
Whenever you want me back
Ah- this is home (x4)
