Elias Constantopedos

Elias studied piano and composition at the Conservatorium of Music High school and University, graduating in 2005 with Honors (1st class). He has had a number of his works performed and broadcast including Forge (2000), Stomp (2001) at Angel Place and Hollow Voices (2001) on ABC. He was a composer in the inaugural chronology concert series with his work Deipnosophist (2007), and since then as written two pieces this year for chronology including Bourgeois (2008) premiered and broadcast at the ABC centre. He has been working as a composer/producer in a variety of genres including Film, Electronic, Popular and Contemporary Dance. He was commissioned by Warringah council to compose music for "Whale Songlines" (2004) an event on Freshwater beach with choreographer Vicki Van Hout. He became musical director and composer with Vicki Van Hout working on two full length dance productions "Wirad Journi" (2006) at Riverside theatre and "My Right Foot" (2007), in which he composed and produced all music. Continuing his work with Vicki Van Hout, he was composer/video artist in residence at Critical Path (early 2008) and later the Carriage works with Performance Space (late 2008) to develop a new audio/visual dance work. He has recently completed a commission for Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to be premiered in early 2009.
