Bio

“El Calle’s Bio”
Oscar Armando Guandique was born on March 06, 1987. He started his career at the age of thirteen influenced by many MC’s such as Vico C, Mexicano, Playero from the beaches of Puerto Rico and also Brooklyn’s legend The Notorious B.I.G. Imitating their style and glamour in front of his East New York apartment bedroom mirror he would say “one day I will be on that level”. El Calle would go to school and instead of doing his academic projects he would work on his lyrics. After the years went by he perfected his lyrics and builds his own style, feeling good about himself he volunteered to perform at a mother’s day party in his school. After his performance all the people applauding and giving him all their attention he knew from this moment this is what I’m living for.
High School was a downfall for El Calle, a local gang chose his path instead of his music, and he lost his focus and started taking the path to his destruction. One day hanging out on 179th street with his gang members one of his friends was hit on the head with a brick, as they rushed to the hospital and he watched his best friend fight for his life he awoke and considered leaving that life alone and started his career again.
El Calle started writing his music again and this time teamed up with a guy he met by the name of Papo Mendoza. He started recording over at Papo’s place with the little bit of equipment they had, he remembers holding the microphone in his hand because they didn’t have a stand , and taping the mic together in order to get a sound out, as time went by he met a lot of people along the way from Performing in Washington Heights to 116th street and Summer Jam.
Back to the downhill when his father died he put the microphone down and left his career on rest for a little while because his father was his strength to go on. One afternoon in a McDonalds eating he met two guys from Diamond Hands Entertainment by the name of Junie AKA The Business Man and Ezzy. He thought to himself “I can put my pain in my music” and hoped that this time around his career would fly through the roof.
Newsflash for El Calle goes World wide as he registers under BMI music, gets on all of these different websites such as micmasters, isound, myspace, migente and etc.., this life he loves and feels there is much more to come from getting support from Gilyard and BPNY Clothing, to the liquor line Everglow. He’s on the All Access Latino DVD and the Ridgewood Newspaper, My career has just begun and the journey is long my team supports me all the way. Diamond Hands Entertainment.
