IFR Hope and Healing Concert
Kevin Johansen, one of today’s most fun, deep, playful, smart and thoughtful artists in Latino singer-songwriter music, performs at the SFJAZZ Center for the 35th anniversary of Instituto Familiar de la Raza. El teatro Metropolitan se volvió de nuevo un gran salón de baile al ritmo de "Bolivia", que acabó de poner de pie al público que resistía y que al final regaló una generosa ovación en medio de la fiesta de la que se despidió el cantante.
Minutos de gritos y aplausos después, Drexler regresó al escenario donde dobló sus piernas al escuchar "las mañanitas" por parte del público debido a su próximo cumpleaños el cual se celebra en dos días.
"Gracias de verdad, me voy a hacer otro regalo de cumpleaños, es una mujer que conozco hace mucho y nunca había cantado con ella", dijo, e invitó a Julieta Venegas a cantar "Soledad", con el coro de la gente.
"Universos paralelos", fue el tema que siguió el repertorio de la fiesta que no cesó con "Luna de Rasqui", canción que interpretó con David Aguilar, previo al agradecimiento del artista.
"Gracias, con lo jodido que está el mundo, por hacer un punto ciego para la pena estas dos horas", afirmó Drexler para entregarse a la música y volver a hacer una nueva pausa en la jornada.
La velada de alegría y sabor cerró con broche de oro al interpretar "todo se transforma" y "me haces bien", temas bailados y coreados por el público que agradeció el talento del músico que lució sonriente y agradecido. - Radio Fórmula

-David
Aguilar is a songwriter emerging from the independent Mexican music scene. In
his music there’s a big influence of Mexican folklore, Latin and Brazilian sounds,
as well as a collage of American rock, pop and folk from the 60’s to the 90’s, a
perfect blend of genres that make David Aguilar a very unique artist. His
modern songwriting style seeks for a unique sound in every song.
-He has
performed in countries such as Spain, France, Cuba, United States, Argentina
and Uruguay.
-AWARD: *In
November of 2010, he won the National Composition Grant "Maria
Grever", a fellowship provided by the SACM (the BMI of Mexico) for
songwriters at the top of their field.
-He is the
composer of the song "La cumbia de
la bici", an actual hymn for the cyclist- movement in Mexico City. The
song is also used in other countries such as Spain and Colombia to promote the
use of bicycles in large cities.
-In 2014, Aguilar did a national tour in more than 30 cities of Mexico, for the
release of his new album "El David Aguilar", as well as filming a
documentary about interdisciplinary links in arts. He has recently been invited
to collaborate on projects by renowned songwriters such as Kevin Johansen and
Jorge Drexler.
