If you are looking for some new high quality soft rock music, I recommend you Eldebrock. They come from Canada. Formed in 2009, the line-up consists of Jary Wegenast (lead vocals), Barrett Moore (Lead Guitar/Vocals), Del Bannerman (Guitar), Shawn Bannerman (Drums), Richard Lalonde (Bass). They released in September their debut self-titled album produced by Ryan Andersen and mixed by Michael Wagener (Metallica’s Master of Puppets, Ozzy’s No More Tears). It is a brilliant melodious soft rock record. It is a painting of powerful soft rock sounds. Their music is synonym Art with a big A. It is creative and harmonious. The band has a real sense of textured melody backed by a strong musicianship. Great arrangements. The production is perfect.There are plenty of great moments throughout the album like She Said, Wings of Rust, Lost and Lonely Souls. The tracks are simply subtle soft rock pieces with heavier songs like the opener song Tomorrow, full of energy. You will notice the fine quality of solo guitars in Wings of Rust, Venom Man one of my favorite songs with Room of Stone. This track has some awesome symphonic parts. The vocal melody is sublime and the chorus is pretty catchy.

My first favorite is Ride the Waves that would have been a better single from the album than Release me. The track has a beautiful memorable melody with great vocals. This song will be remembered for a long time.

I like the fantastic acoustic guitar tune in The Man Who’s Gone. It is sweet, rich, a pure beauty.

In conclusion, Eldebrock ‘s debut album is well done. Even if there are not really radio-friendly tracks. No matter. The songs are structured, full of textures. The sound is pleasant. Eldebrock has essential ressources to become a great band. I would not be surprised if they don’t hit the charts. Don’t forget to check out their official website. "Release Me", the first single from the new self-titled album by Western Canadian rockers ELDEBROCK, is not only skyrocketing with buzz, but now it's rocking the skies too. Their new hit song will now be featured nationally and internationally on the Canadian-pop-music-only channel on Thomas Cook Airlines in November, December and January.

Between 1,000,000 and 1,800,000 passengers are predicted to fly nationally and internationally on Thomas Cook Airlines during the upcoming three-month period.

While "Release Me" flies the friendly skies, the self-titled ELDEBROCK album remains grounded and is continuing to build momentum throughout Canada and the United States. The CD was mixed by industry heavyweight Michael Wagener and produced by Ryan Andersen. Wagener, whose works have sold more than 93 million albums worldwide, has worked on some of rock's most respected albums, including METALLICA's "Master of Puppets", SKID ROW's self-titled debut and OZZY OSBOURNE's "No More Tears". Eldebrock, an up-and-coming rock band, recently won an award for their website, www.eldebrock.net.

The award, presented by the Interactive Media Council, was for website design in the music category.

The five-member band, including guitarist Del Bannerman, who attended high school in North Battleford, enlisted the help of British designer Andy Screen for their website. Screen is a Worcester-based illustrator, artist, designer and sculptor, whose most recent clients include Hooters and Rubber Roosters. He is perhaps best known for his comic book-style illustrations of half-naked women and what he calls “dirty, trashy urban style.”

Bannerman was pleased with the award and said, “All those sleepless night were worth it and we couldn’t have done it without Andy’s help.”

The website features illustrations by Screen, and includes biographies of the band members.

A free copy of the band’s debut single, Release Me, is available for download for a limited time and there is a contest for a 32 GB iPad.

Eldebrock formed in early 2009 and their self-titled debut album is set to be released mid-September.

This year, the band received a piece of awful news: Del Bannerman’s uncle, who was set to be the tour bus driver, was diagnosed with cancer. This news came only a week after Bannerman found out one of his cousins had breast cancer.

Realizing how many people he knew with cancer – 15 off the top of his head – Bannerman approached the band with the idea of donating a portion of their album sales to a cancer charity.

The other band members agreed wholeheartedly and will be donating one dollar of every album sold to the International Union Against Cancer, a leading non-governmental organization in cancer research and prevention.

Cut from the same cloth as Nickelback, Three Days Grace and Theory of a Deadman; Eldebrock is a newly founded Canadian rock band that has recently released their self-titled debut album. This band’s arena sized sound and hard rock influences have given birth to anthemic choruses and power ballads that will have your horns in the air one moment and singing along the next. The album was mixed by the renowned hands of Michael Wagener who has mixed such legendary albums as “No More Tears” by Ozzy Osbourne and Metallica’s seminal album “Master of Puppets”. The album’s first single “Release Me” should be hitting radio waves soon and will have you crooning along to some new commercial Canadian rock.

Del Bannerman, rhythm guitarist for the band and one of the first members, took some time out of his schedule to discuss plans for their album release, ideas for their upcoming tour, and let fans know where their future is headed.

Alex: How were you guys able to come together to form one band despite your busy schedules?

Del: Yeah, actually that was one of the hardest things was getting good guys together. We’re all spread apart, Richard (Lalonde, Eldebrock’s bassist) and I are in the same town here, (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan) and Jay (Wegenast, lead singer for Eldebrock) moved here from Vancouver. He (Jay) had a buddy who ended becoming the lead guitarist (Barrett Moore) and I had cousin that became our drummer (Shawn Bannerman) so we just got together and went from there.

Alex: What was it that tipped you guys off from turning this into what could have been just a passion project with your buddies jamming in your garage to a full-fledged band making a full length album?

Del: It was a goal of mine and once Richard and Jay, the three of us got together and that was the goal from the start and we started going at it really hard. Once we realized we could get Michael Wagener (who mixed the album) it really went into high gear.

Alex: Yeah. How did he (Michael Wagener) come to fit in the picture?

Del: Actually I just looked at some albums I liked from the past, I just picked up a Skid Row album and he was the producer and mixed on that one (Wagener mixed the self-titled 1989 debut from Skid Row and their 1991 album “Slave to the Grind”). I grabbed the Ozzy “No More Tears” album and he also mixed that one, I shot him an email and he got back to me and he was all over it. So we just booked a date and went out there.

Alex: How perfect is that? What’s it like to work with a guy that’s had this Midas touch on so many powerhouse albums and been so close to so many of your influences?

Del: It was pretty amazing just being in the studio with him, seeing how he works and hanging out with him for the few weeks we were there. It’s pretty cool.

Alex: For sure. I’m sure it was nice to have someone you’re more familiar with too like Ryan Anderson (who produced the album).

Del: Yeah.

Alex: It’s kind of the best of both worlds where you’re sticking around with a familiar face and trying new things.

Del: Yeah, for sure.

Alex: What were you guys able to accomplish than any of the other bands you’ve been in because they were headed in different directions?

Del: It’s just the level we wanted to take it; we wanted to make a living doing it instead of just jamming and hanging out. We work at it from eight in the morning until bed essentially every day trying to make it happen. It’s the effort put into it that’s makes the difference.

Alex: Definitely. First of all, to focus more on the album itself, I was wondering where the songs “Lost and Lonely Souls” and “Release Me” came from being a riff to being a full-fledged song?

Del: I guess some of that was just looking at our situation and wanting to do more in life and we just kind of worked on it from there. Jay put all the lyrics to that.

Alex: Are there any songs that stick out particularly in your mind or struck a personal note for you guys?

Del: I guess “Lost and Lonely Souls” does it for us as a band because it just talks about doing more, following your dreams and making it happen.

Alex: And watching things go from ideas in your head to an actual part of reality?

Del: Yeah, exactly. Like when you have the physical album in your hand and that kind of thing.

Alex: What do you guys have in store for the tour? Are there any bands in particular you’re looking to tour with?

Del: We are, there are so many different options and even talking with different agencies and deciding which route to go. We want to do it as big as we can. We’ve made a list of forty bands we’d like to tour with that we’re trying to work on to.

Alex: In a perfect world what’s one band you would love to tour with or share the stage with?

Del: I guess the main one for us would be Alice in Chains.

Alex: Yeah, they’re actually on tour with the Deftones and Mastodon right now. On top of that, if you guys were able to collaborate with any bands, who would it be?
Del: Alice in Chains would be one that would be massive for us and someone like Zakk Wylde would be pretty crazy.

Alex: Is the album dedicated to anyone or did you have anyone in mind while you were making it? Was there anybody that really inspired you to keep pushing on?

Del: I guess not really any individual thing but for me I had to prove it to myself and I think it’s the same with the other guys, that we could actually do it.

Alex: Essentially, what drew you to the band in the first place on top of a personal relationship with your buddies? What was it that drew you in to making this something real?
Del: Originally it was just a concept. I started the band originally to take it further; I guess the main thing was getting the guys that have their shit together to make it happen.

From the opening notes through the closing strains of Eldebrock's 'Release Me,' you will be instantly reminded of vintage Alice in Chains, as the band traffics in moody, gloomy hard rock, but Eldebrock aren't some copycat. They dose the song with their own unique, guitar-driven spin, and the song is impossible to expunge from your brain; it's that catchy. Noisecreep is pleased to premiere the song right here. The track is a product of modern technology, since it was initially recorded through the miracle that is vocalist/guitarist Jay Wegenast's cell phone.

"We were in the process of recording a song called 'Bad Decisions,' but it just wasn't sounding right, so we left it for the day and moved on," Wegenast told Noisecreep about the evolution of the song, which appears on their self-titled album, due out Sept. 14.

Wegenast continued, "It was bugging me and I knew it wasn't going to come out how we wanted it to. I went to bed that night thinking of different melodies when one stuck in my head. I didn't want to forget it, so I got up and played it on guitar over and over. I wanted to record it, but didn't have anything to record it with. So I got out my cell phone and recorded it using the 'voice memo' tool and went to bed. The next morning, I wrote some lyrics and came up with some chords on the acoustic. I took the song to the studio and played an acoustic version for everyone."

'Release Me' meant that 'Bad Decisions' was scrapped, but it was a wise, not a 'bad' decision -- pun intended. "The actual recording on the cell phone became the intro and outro to 'Release Me,'" Wegenast said. - AOL Noisecreep

Eldebrock made a statement when their debut self-titled album dropped earlier this week: they are a force to be reckoned with. When their hard-hitting album released on September 14, this Canadian alt-rock group proved that they can hold their own alongside bands like Nickelback, Creed, and Daughtry.

Eldebrock got started in Spring 2009, when Del Bannerman (rhythm guitar) founded the band. From there, Richard LaLonde (bass guitar) and Jay Wegenast (lead vocals) were recruited. Barrett Moor (lead guitar) joined in late 2009, and the band finally settled on their lineup in Spring 2010 when Shawn Bannerman (drums) joined. Due to Bannerman’s late entry into the band, the drums on the album are actually done by Robin Diaz. Diaz has worked with artists such as Kiss and Theory of a Deadman.

This album commands your attention from the start. The first track, “Tomorrow,” opens with dominant guitar riffs. Then Wegenast’s gritty, strong vocals take the forefront. A face-melting guitar solo is the last element of the song that really proves that this band means business.

The third track on the album, “Ride the Waves”, starts out by showing a softer side of Eldebrock. All of the instruments, vocals, and lyrics are much more gentle in comparison to the previous tracks. Definitely the heavy rock ballad of the album, this song stands out among the rest.

The album gradually picks up the pace with the next track, “Release Me,” and Eldebrock are in full-swing again with track five, “Killer.” The song is fierce and demanding, and Moore’s Slash-inspired guitar riffs take center stage.

“Room of Stone,” the next track on the album, is a haunting ballad, and arguably the best track on the album. The song consumes the listener, and takes the listener to the deepest and darkest places of their mind. “Room of Stone” not only shows off Eldebrock’s talent, but also their versatility as artists.

Unfortunately, the downside to this album is that after “Room of Stone,” the rest of the tracks blend together. The tracks are good, but seem like cookie-cutter copies of previous songs on the album.

Eldebrock manages to go out with a bang with the last track on the album, “Wings of Rust.” The last track really embodies everything that Eldebrock has to offer: strong vocals, powerful guitar riffs, and innovative talent. “Wings of Rust” gives each member of the band an opportunity to showcase their talent, and also shows how well this band works together. The perfect choice for the last track on the album, this track leaves a lasting impression.

Although the second half of the album doesn’t stand out as much as the first, Eldebrock has certainly proved their potential with this debut album. Nickelback better watch their back, because Eldebrock could become the next big name in alt-rock.

Eldebrock's new single Release Me is a wonderful rock ride.
It's a mid tempo song that sounds just as good if not better than anything out today. The vocals of Jay Wegenast and Barrett Moore sound good over wonderful guitar and drums. It is the type of song that will sound good 10 years from now.
If you like solid rock with a touch of grime to them then this is for you.

They also are giving something back. The band started a wonderful campaign. Eldebrock’s World War on Cancer and they have committed to giving one dollar per album (ten cents per song sold) to support the UICC’s fight against cancer.

This is polished band that produces good music that the industry has been missing and they care!
