Bio

Electric Jellyfish is an animal, there is no mistaking that. Having toured the United States twice and Australia twice in three years since forming, the band has experienced what most bands do in an entire career.

After losing founding member Hayden Sweeney and photographer Bridget O'Brien in a car crash near the end of their first tour of the United States, the band took six months to recuperate, and headed straight back to the US on the back of a Ecstatic Yod (Byron Coley and Thurston Moore's collaborative label) release entitled The Woods.

The limited pressing “Yodtape” cassette sold out within a month of its release on the back of extensive touring.

DJ Rick from KDVS Californian radio said:
"Just got back from the Electric Jellyfish show... That band was hands-down, the best band I've seen all year. I'm no kinda spiritual person, but the way I felt about seeing them play must be like going to church and figuring out what it's all about."

Shortly after the last US tour, any lost time in Australia was immediately made up for in 2009 with two independently booked Australian tours taking in most Australian capital cities. In addition to extensive touring this year, the band also managed to release a split EP with Atlanta, Georgia experimental artist Pony Bones on newly formed label Spectacular Commodity.

Electric Jellyfish will tour Australia in late 2009, leading up to a massive USA tour in March / April 2010.
