Bio

Electric Skies are from sunny Exeter, Devon.
As young upstarts forming in 2004 under the name LetterstoLeaders, the band spent their tenure years focusing on the local scene, playing many local shows at Exeter’s Cavern Club and other clubs & bars around the city and South West region.

August 2007 saw the band step up a level when they were asked by Drive Thru Records to support hellogoodbye at The Liverpool Carling Academy. The reaction was overwhelming and the band were buoyed by such support, and continued to gig relentlessly in the South West, switching to a four piece in June 2008.

Further high profile support slots followed with bands such as The Young Knives, Spitalfield & Look See Proof, and the band began to play shows in London, venues such as The Metro & 93 Feet East, Shoreditch. The band pushed on to their best release to date with ‘See It Away’ in the summer of 2009, which received encouraging praise from sites such as Punktastic & 24/7 magazine.

October 2009 saw the band tour and then head to the famous Sawmills studios in Cornwall to track for their planned album release in 2010. The band came away with two tracks and then completed the year with a show at The Cavern just before Christmas 2009.

Early 2010 saw the band writing the rest of their album and spending time on pre production with Doc Collins at PMC before entering Monnow Valley Studios in Wales in April and working with engineer Tom Manning (The Enemy, Feeder & Funeral For A Friend) on tracking the rest of the album.

Having self released four EPs, and enjoyed memorable times as LetterstoLeaders, the band felt it the right time to change names for a number of varying reasons as they finished mixing their first full length release and chose to change to Electric Skies.

With an album recorded and the band looking busy, 2010 promises to be an exciting year for the band.

Lets go mental!
