Bio

The band was originally founded in 1991. Since then, many personnel and stylistic changes have taken place. What originally started as an electronic rock band culminated into Jazz-Fusion and currently exploring spatial jazz-rock sonority.

After an eight year hiatus, the current quartet is the basic core of what is to become a quintet or sextet in the near future. The band's influence stems from the music of John Coltrane, electric works of Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock, and more. The music incorporates compositional and playing techniques based on these great musicians by following their footsteps in exploratory and improvisational traditions.

The tunes take their own character depending on the interaction of the musicians with the audience. The Electric Son (TES) is able to adapt to a particular style depending on the audience expectation and demography. Renditions of a song is played in a way that it does not sound the same way twice thus adding variety to the set. More so, the ability of the members to listen to each other within the band is extremely important since all individuals have to be prepare to take unexpected shift in any one musical rendition. At times two or three different songs would meld with each other without notice to create a smooth transitional suite without the audience being aware (a technique borrowed from musician great, Steve Coleman and Five Elements).

Another approach that set this group apart from others is that it seeks to Extemporize; that is, the ability to compose music on the spot. Far different from improvisation, the goal is to create a collaborative piece of music on stage that sound as if it was previously composed. Needless to say, it is a one and only experience that the audience at the time gets to hear but never gets to listen to ever again (hint: unless they come prepared with their digital recorder and have it switched-on at the right moment). It is a unique technique to provoke the audience to continually come and see the band to hear a fresh musical experience.
