Biography

New York City rock band Electric Sun announce the digital release of their debut EP The Gilded Cage out 11/15. The 5 song EP, co-produced by lead singer Vlad Holiday and Dean Baltulonis (The Hold Steady, Brand New, The Gay Blades, Lissy Trullie), was recorded in Queens, NY at The Wild Arctic. With soaring rock anthems and searing guitar solos, Electric Sun is poised to secure their spot in rock history.

Breathing in equal parts of Springsteen and Metric, Electric Sun exhales something unique back into the atmosphere - a sound that is sure to “color the bland and heat up the cold,” affirms Holiday.

Electric Sun is Vlad Holiday (lead vocals/lead guitar), Amanda Carl (keyboards/backing vocals), Steve Kellner (rhythm guitar/backing vocals) and Dave Tantao (drums). After a year and a half of writing songs about optimism, something Holiday explains he found “by sitting back and viewing other people’s negativity,” he presented the material to his long time friends. Holiday’s goal is to “inspire people to do great things…I want to add soundtracks to their lives and give them a bit of extra fuel to get through the day.” Carl, Tantao, and Kellner all backed Holiday’s vision and ES was formed.

The law of conservation of energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, just transformed from one state to another. Electric Sun does just that as a band and throughout The Gilded Cage. Holiday describes the meaning behind the band name by saying “I believe our creativity doesn’t come from within - it’s something we absorb from elsewhere. It’s a place where all wild ideas and dreams exist, and the goal as an artist is to create gateways from that world to ours.”

The Gilded Cage is now available in online stores.
