"CD REVIEW"

When you get an album called Hair.Denim.Sex.Metal by a band called Electrik Dynamite, you know it's time to crack the stonewash out. This album is exactly what you think when you look at the cover - a poor man's Whitesnake/Motley Crue/Def Leppard... take your pick. It's an hour of gratuitous soloing, guitar duelling, '80s synths and wailing vocals. Lyrically there are some real gems, "Your vodka eyes match my whiskey lips / Straight on ice do I take the risk?", lead singer Ryan "Maverick" Reeve muses on Midnight Runner. The album, however, is hilariously entertaining, and with nicknames like Maverick, Cougar, Stinger and Flexx, you would like to think this party metal crew at least have their tongues partially planted in cheek. The epic eight-minute cheesy power ballad Ik Hou Van Joe (Dutch for I love you), is the icing on this excessive cake. Hair.Denim.Sex.Metal is over the top, dated and ridiculous - but that's what makes it so much fun.

"CD REVIEW"

Do you like hair? Denim? Sex? Metal? Showering? If you answered, yes, yes, yes, yes and no, Electrik Dynamite are your new favourite pub warriors. Hailing straight out of Melbourne, these guys and gal sound a bit like Iron Maiden if they stopped galloping, used more hair spray and had a fondness for leopard print. Offering up a smorgasbord of over the top guitarmonics, soaring choruses and a keytar atmospherics (that's right, people, a freakin' keytar!), there's even an eight-minute power ballad ("Ik Hou Van Jou") just begging you to whip out a lighter. Whether or not Electrik Dynamite are taking the piss or the real deal, there's no funny business lurking about on this 12-track affair - just your meat-and-potatoes metal primed for chugging beer and fist pumping

Bio

"6 Top Guns, spewing forth the power of heavy metal".

There once was a time where 'heavy metal' was not about how low your tuning was, how brutal your vocals were or how much double kick action the drummer could belt out. Once upon a time, heavy metal encompassed more - the passion, the conviction, belief in the god of metal... oh, and the hair! That time was the 80's. 6 souls were born from the wombs of 80's heavy metal, these 6 souls are Electrik Dynamite!

With songs that transcend the course of two decades of music, epic harmonies, unforgettable melodies, 80's keyboard flavoured pop hooks with a totally modern 'don't give a fuck' attitude, wrapped in an explosive live package of feel good fun and timeless rock-god stage moves, Electrik Dynamite are jumpin' in their F-14 Eagles (See: Top Gun, the movie) and settin' their sights on electrifying the masses.

"It's party time tonight...
...with Electrik Dynamite!"
