Elektrip

BandRockJam

To genuinely feel the resonance of this self proclaimed "live driven band" is to do just that, see them live. Elektrip's performances consist of a colourful balance between intricate arrangements and energetic experimental improvisational play. It get's saucy!!!

Biography

In 2001, Eugene Brotto and Simon Esterez formed Elektrip. Once they fine tuned the material, they took to the stage along with their musical cohorts in 2003. They have played several shows throughout Quebec including Montreal, the Laurentians and the Eastern Townships.

Reading about the Elektrip experience truly does not do it justice. To genuinely feel the resonance of this self proclaimed "live driven band" is to do just that, see them live, up close and personal. Elektrip's performances consist of a colourful balance between intricate arrangements and experimental improvisational play. It get's saucy!!!

The sound of Elektrip consists of rock and groove, with hints of electronic samples. The balance within the group is maintained through the shared expression between a particular vocal articulation and a musical resonance that bleeds improvisational skill throughout the arrangements.

The lyrics that inhabit the songs tell the tales of a human race juggling with their conscience, their lucidity or folly, their love stories or their compelling desire to experience life intensely.

This project is the amalgamation of five distinct individuals, with a singular objective: Creating Good Music!

Travel On

Written By: Elektrip

How many times have you been around, what were you before the sun went down
You’ve traveled long and your spirit’s weary, your hardened mind is conscience heavy
One hundred lives seem to slip away, soul extended, now you’re gonna stay
Don’t let this judging hinder your vision, because to me you embody perfection
Yeah, yeah, yeah,
Yeah, yeah,
Was this the life that you desired, you tried to follow what your dreams inspired
Don’t think too hard about what makes you happy, trusting in love is all you’ll ever need
Fearless in the face of ageing, fearless in face of dying
Don’t be sorry you’ve done nothing wrong, no need to worry you can travel on
At your end it will feel so easy, salvation lies within faith of eternity
It’s when you’re born that it’s hard to manage, this twisted world can be quite a challenge
Was this the life that you desired, you tried to follow what your dreams inspired
Don’t think too hard about what makes you happy, trusting in love is all you’ll ever need
Fearless in the face of ageing, fearless in the face of dying, oh! Baby now,
Don’t be sorry you did nothing wrong, no need worry you can travel on

I Said No!

Written By: Elektrip

On the morning that we woke up, to take our lives in our hands
It couldn’t have been a minute too late, to stop whatever we can
Oh! When the powers that be say they set us free, from their dirty corporate plans
We are the Gods responsible, to save our precious lands
Some say the governments’ slipping
Some the governments’ tripping
Some say the government will open up and swallow this world whole
I said no, I said no, I won’t let it happen, I said no
There are those with good intentions, they try and caress the earth
There are those who bleed but don’t succeed, when hoping for rebirth
These people lead by example and God I feel their hurt
How in the world can the rest of us just sit right down and watch
Some say the people are sleeping, some say the people they be dreaming
Some say the people will simply squat and let disaster unfold
I said no, I said no, I won’t let it happen, I said no
(bridge)
You give them ugly flesh puppets, unholy political marionettes
Caricatures in a world gone sour, to worship, to bow, and to praise, yeah
To the insurgent ideology of western power, through the exploitation of a weakened faith
We propose prosperity and give them free trade
It isn’t that hard to understand, while we take all the oil and leave them with sand
Why must we hide behind your web of lies, please tell us the truth before we set out to die
You want to send me off to war so I can rape the innocence of children’s hearts
You shroud us with your veil of deception, when all you really want is financial contraception
Some say the lies are seething, some say the lies won’t stop breeding no
Some say these lies will never stop and they’ll swallow this world whole
Some say the lies are seething, some say the lies won’t stop breeding
Some say these lies will never stop and they’ll swallow this world whole
I said no, I said no, I won’t let it happen, I said no.

Liar, Liar

Written By: Elektrip

So far so good, everything still turning as it should.
Now if I let the money in, why is it a sin,
I don’t care if I am ethical, when all I love and know is political
Of course some money, it trickles out
Well you better be a friend of the mastermind, if you want to get your share of the goldmine.
You discover my scandals yeah! And I’m still on the saddle baby
I’m whipping down your hope with lies, sucking on your flesh like a giant horsefly

You the people still believe, I’m glad to see you never thought to read
Those tiny words between the lines, such a crime
My thoughts churn economical, save your dollars if your logical
Building up my private empire,
Well you better be a friend of the mastermind, if you want to get your share of the goldmine
You discover my scandals, yeah! And I’m still on the saddle baby
Gorge myself with freedom fries, as I blink and watch Mother Nature die
“bridge”
So far still good, everything still turning as it should
Now as the money keeps rolling in, did you think I wouldn’t win
My manners are methodical and all my holidays are tropical
Of course that money, it trickles out
Well you better be friend of the mastermind, if you want to get your share of the goldmine
You discover my scandals, yeah! And I’m still on the saddle baby
I’m whipping down your hope with lies, sucking on your flesh like a giant horsefly
