The members of Element 22 met in the summer of 2003, and they have been playing together in a variety of settings ever since. The band has played around with a lot of styles, but they have settled in on a mix between adult alternative and southern rock. The main drive of the group is to keep the music fresh and evolving, so Element 22 does not shy away from experimenting with the music.
James Keirstead comes from a classical music background, and he actually tunes his bass like a cello. His tuning allows him a range and flexibility that standard tuning prohibits. Because of his training, James brings a very original approach to rock music.
Ron Brown has had the opportunity to play a number of clubs and venues in a variety of styles of music. Ron is always looking to push the music further and to get the absolute best out of every song.
Michael and Rebecca moved to Charlotte in 2003 from Nashville, TN. They bring the passion of the Music City to Charlotte in their tight harmonies.
