Bio
Summer of 2001 - Bob Simko and Tim Walsh form the band after a chance meeting at a music store in Waukesha, WI . Looking to get exposure, Bob pens "Goin' to Afghanistan", a rock parody about Osama Bin Laden immediately after 9/11. The song was based on the melody of "Back in the USSR" and distributed to local radio stations. Within days, several Milwaukee stations pick up the tune, most notably 102.1 (the old WLUM) and 95 WIIL Rock out of Kenosha. The song sparked immediate interest from the local bar scene and the band was on it's way.
Influenced heavily by the guitar sound of the '80's (think whammy bars, pick scrapes, and harmonics) Element Blue has strived to set itself apart from the typical '80's cover band. The band prides itself on not just performing great songs, but also tunes that you forgot you loved. In addition, they're not afraid to perform songs done by some of the greatest ladies in rock too.
Evolving over the years, Element Blue added local veteran Kurt Rakowski on bass in 2004, and lead guirtarist Pete Gorski to the lineup in 2006. The band has honed it's live show to create a party atmosphere and pulls out a few surprises to keep things interesting. How many bands will take "Ice Ice Baby" and turn it into a full blown rocker?
Their onstage chemistry combined with he fact that these guys personally really like they music they play makes for a great live act. An Element Blue show spans the best of the last 25 years and always guarantees a good time to be had by all.
