Elephant Doorstep first EP entitled "Where to Begin" features four songs including "One More Taste," "Undiscovered Strangers," "How to Be Human," and "Don't Look Behind."

Elephant Doorstep is the product of four unbreakable friendships whose relationship evolved into forming a band. Mike Rasmussen, Josh Wheeler, and brothers Tyler and Brendon Hoorneman created Elephant Doorstep in June 2010 and after only a few weeks rehearsal performed a 2 hour live show featuring over 8 original songs to a packed house at an intimate local club called Lee's Tavern in a town called Mesquite, NV whose reputation is best know as a "golfer's paradise." After overwhelming responses like, "I can't get your songs out of my head," and "Damn Man! I've never seen 4 dudes sweat that much during a live show! You guys kick ass!" the "unbreakable four" had no other choice but to allow the evolution of the music to continue.
Within the past five months Elephant Doorstep hasn't wasted any time in trying to pry their "high octane live show" and "original material" into the Las Vegas music scene where life would be much easier for the band if they decided to be a "Billy Idol' or "Poison" cover group. Despite being the underdog in a cover-driven city, Elephant Doorstep has shown no resolve playing live shows including: "4th of July Holiday Block Party," "The Rock Room @ Crazy Horse 3," "Tailspin"; and wasted no time in recording their first four track EP entitled "Where To Begin," with amazing studio engineer, John Houston, at "The Studio" in remote Hurricane, UT.
Elephant Doorstep sets themselves apart from other bands in the music industry today due to the fact that they take on the mold of a traditional four piece rock band but have re-shaped it in the sense that rather than having two guitars, bass, and drums the band subsitutes another percussion member for what would be another guitar. This enables the band to take on a somewhat tribal feel to their rock sound but when infused with "catchy R&B-like melodies" and rythmic Guitar/Bass driven lines that don't follow but rather compliment each other it allows the music to take on a very individual, hard to describe sound. Brendon Hoorneman may have said it best when he said, "Imagine if the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bob Dylan, and Dave Matthews had a kid. Then you'd get Elephant Doorstep."
In the coming months Elephant Doorstep looks forward to creating relationships with new venues and opportunitites to share their music with more people. In the month of December the band is scheduled to go back to "The Studio," with John Houston to record four more tracks including "Camdentown," "Let Her Go," "Sunday Drive," and "Anything." When combined with the four tracks recorded from the August sessions the band is set for their CD release in January 2011.
