Bio

Elephantor is an Indonesian rock band based in Jakarta. The band consists of
Ihsan Aladin (vocal), Rizki Devandi (lead guitar), Raffles Antonius

(rhythm guitar), Aditya Anugerah (bass), and Adri Fauzan (drums).

We described the music as a rock based band where they emulated the variety of sounds,
and styles its rock music to wide range of stylistic interests like garage rock, hard
rock, stoner rock and made it difficult initially to identify the music scene that would
fit their inventive material.

The band was formed in late 2009 by four high school friends, who shared a mutual
admiration for rock n roll. Ihsan, Aditya, Adri and Rizki knew each other since
middle school. They jammed together with the influence from Wolfmother, The
Datsuns, and many other rock bands. And not long afterwards, in high school,
Raffles came along with his good sense in arranging music, and of course with the
same taste of music. So they started to write their own songs, and played in local
gigs, or school events.

In their early years, they were a covering band for their idols. They'd play
Wolfmother's or The Datsuns’ songs in rehearsal. But, they thought it'd be better if
they start to play their own songs. They were one of the many local bands born in
early 2010, a time of stagnancy, judging from intensity of music events, unlike the
several years before which there are many music events held for independent
musicians. Even though many of those gigs were being held with lack of funds, but
every one involved was doing it in such will.

At this time when mainstream music  were
dominating airwaves, Elephantor wondered how their rock-based tendencies, and
reverences for multiple styles would be received by audiences. To find out, they
began to send out the demo to campus or school events. The audience’s reaction
was positive, and the band realized they would not be forced to confine to play
mainstream music to gain listeners. Their authentic love for good rock n roll would
be more than enough.
