Bio

Elevated Lines is a musical project fronted by Austin, TX musician Carrie Clark, singer/guitarist of 90s psychedelic pop band Sixteen Deluxe.

Rather than pursuing a traditional band format, Carrie Clark's vision for Elevated Lines was to focus on songs, be they covers or originals, written by herself or by others. "With Sixteen Deluxe, it was vibrant energy... a lot more free-for-all let's-see-what's-going-to-happen and that was the beauty of that band," Carrie said in an interview last year with David Brown on Texas Music Matters. "And with [Elevated Lines], it's really concentrated songwriting and concentrated recording, basically taking all of the musical disciple we've learned over the years and just trying to get into the songcraft." In turn, creativity happened more in studios of Austin than in it’s clubs. The sounds are more defined by the chemistry of the musicians cast for each song than confined by determined bandmates.

Elevated Lines have been dubbed “atmospheric rock and roll” or, as Carrie recently described Elevated Lines to NPR: "If Debbie Harry, Mick Taylor, and Pink Floyd got together to cover The Ronettes."

Evil Eye (EP) is the debut release from Elevated Lines and features contributions by several notable Austin musicians, such as Los Angeles expatriate Matt Devine (Medicine, Possum Dixon), Steven Hall (Young Heart Attack & Sixteen Deluxe), Jeff Copas (Sixteen Deluxe), Adoniram Lipton (Slowtrain), and recording engineer Erik Wofford (The Black Angels, The Octopus Project). Los Angeles drummer Byron Reynolds (Sea Wolf, Possum Dixon) also makes an appearance.
