Born and raised in Charlotte North Carolina, Elevator Jay has been writing and producing his own music since 2005. His goal is to bring back the original sound of Southern Rap with a new twist, staying true to those influences that pioneered the sound, and also adding lyrical content that is key to this form of expression. During Elevator's college years, he began to develop ideas that could expose his musical talents on many platforms and for a multitude of fans. Out of those ideas came Elevator Music Group, which is the indie label that will expose true talent and unique styles of promotion which include his direct involvement with the emergent clothing line by the name of PRYD Clothing, in which Elevator serves as a graphic designer.
Since 2005, Elevator has worked with various artists and producers compiling a diverse catalogue of music and learning his craft along the way. Locally Elevator is becoming a crowd favorite at local showcases, proving that his star is on the rise. There will be more to look forward to in the future coming from Elevator Jay and the EMG team so be on the lookout.
