""I Call Things Indie"/EP Feature"

The US anxious-electro musician Eli Shane released the début EP Flip On Fiona yesterday.

Each of the five tracks on the EP, which is available on bandcamp, is of different scope and as a collection possess an urgency of expressing a jumble of thoughts for interrogation and self-analysis. Whilst a mixed bag of themes and an introspective narrative the listener does not feel an intruder as the angst riven material picks its way through the room.

The penultimate track is I Call Things Indie. - Emerging Indie Bands

""The View" Feature"

Lost connections are a tragic state of living. Folk musician Eli Shane falls prey to the earth-scorched embers of a dying relationship with “The View,” off his new EP, Flip on Fiona, and digs his way out of the subsequent ash as best he can. “You used to step on top of everything I’d always do,” he sings, charred spits falling from his lips and onto the crusted dirt at his feet. He sends up a list of wishes for himself and the other person, both a naive and hopeful act of faith. Even given the sour state of things, he yearns for what it felt like anyway. - B-Sides & Badlands

""I Call Things Indie" Track Review"

Translation:
New York Indie-Pop / soloist Eli Shane has just released his fourth single, entitled "I Call Things Indie".

"I Call Things Indie" is one of the singles that entered its debut album "Flip on Fiona" which was released on August 24, 2018.

This single is truly an indie song, regardless of the title of course. Single guitar ballads are colored by adding electronic touches that mix well throughout the song. Eli's beautiful vocals make this even more pop with a little ballad and of course the distinctiveness of this song. this song is suitable to be enjoyed anytime.

Vokal yang Eli yang indah membuat ini semakin pop dengan sedikit balada dan tentu saja kekhasan lagu ini. lagu ini cocok dinikmati kapan saja. - Parapop

""The View" Feature"

“You’re supposed to put the chip on number 11. Do you know how to play this game?” He looked at her in misplaced confusion. “You don’t need to yell at me for not knowing how to play YOUR game,” he requested. “Sorry. I’m just a bit confused why you’re being so obtuse.” His eyes popped open wider, for she’d used a movie reference from the late 90’s to deliberately hate-on his thought process. “That’s ‘Shawshank Redemption’. How dare you. You know how I love that movie.” She winked. “I know. Now, get with it. Get on board. Turn those creaking gears in your head, will ya?!” She gave him a peck on his forehead. He tried not to show her how he blushed. “I’m such a sucker for her,” he thought privately. - Come Here Floyd

Bio

Born and raised in Queens, New York, Eli Shane is an electropop songwriter and music maker.

His debut EP, Flip on Fiona, is out now independently and draws sonic inspiration from artists such as Marina and the Diamonds and Kimbra, while drawing lyrical influence akin to Fiona Apple, Björk, and Mitski. After writing the five tracks on the EP, Eli worked with the very talented producer Heritik to complete each of the songs. Together, they were able to make tracks that fused alternative pop with elements of electro, indie, and dream music that not only fulfilled his personal vision for the EP, but was able to be especially enjoyable to its outer audience. Tracking and mixing took place at the Bunker Studios in Brooklyn, NY, assisted by their engineer, Nolan Thies; their cooperation, equipment, and skills were essential in making the record as great as it turned out. As he was able to create lyrics and music that were both intimate and relatable, having an audience to hear it makes the process feel truly complete.
