Bio

Eli Black (pron. eh-lee bLacK) is a dynamic singer/songwriter and band front-man from Orlando, Florida. By combining soulful vocals with Rock/Funk, he has established a sound of his own without deviating from the mainstream. "Eli's sound is a Hit waiting to happen", says Ed Krout (Owner of Phat Planet Recording Studios)

Currently, Eli is working in the studio with his long time friend and producer "Rodzilla" to finish mixing his full-length album which he started releasing in 3 song chapters at the beginning of ‘08. The first of these chapters is named “Hero” after the title track. To reflect their diversity and understanding of the impending musical Renaissance, the working title "DaVinci Paragon" was chosen to encompass the entire project. The Mastering of DaVinci Paragon is being done by Mid-Manhattan's Grammy Award Winner Scott Hull. Eli Black has begun booking tour dates for the 1st quarter in ’09 focused mostly on the south-eastern U.S.

While growing up, Eli was the only Jewish person his age in a small town called Leesburg, FL. This gave Eli the insight necessary to learn from diversity and cultural difference. Curiosity and a willingness to explore, introduced him to a vast array of musical styles cultivating the vocal sound and lyrical depth he has today. "Timeless lyrics and nostalgic but unique melodies give Eli's songs an unmatched presence and character that makes the listener truly believe the music." - Dustin Skiles (Remix Producer for Shiny Toy Guns & Assistant engineer to Grammy Award Winning Mix Engineer Eric Shilling) His experience extends from performing Acappella on the street to various musical formations throughout the world including Japan where he lived for a year.

Early during his college career, Eli met Record Producer, Rod Wilson "Rodzilla" while performing for a House of Blues relief concert in Orlando, Florida. The professional relationship that followed taught Eli the ways of studio recording, writing, and production. The two have great chemistry in the studio, which is reflected in this current project. Eli's superstar potential is becoming more recognizable to the people around him everyday.
