BandRockFunk

There are no limits to the type of music that we will play, or create for that matter...so what do you want to hear?

Biography

The story so far...
It began in the way that many things do, when Shawn and Davis met in
a park and began playing music together. Juan, a Mexico City native, moved
to Portland in 2001 and joined the group a year later after discovering his
neighbor Shawn shared his passion for music making. Jay and Erik started
playing drums and bass during weekly jam sessions in 2003.
In early Spring of 2004 the magical blooming of E-lie took place, an
event occurring after a friend of Shawn’s suggested he contact Erik and Jay to
see what might be. What happened suprised even the musicians themselves.
In a few short weeks E-Lie went from a single magic jam session
to a practiced,
performance-ready
rock band. The
dedication and skill
of the members is
tangible as they
effortlessly lead
crowds through
arrangements of
original songs ranging
from traditional blues
to heavy-metal and
include the height and
width of rock music.
E-Lie performances are treats in live music, and this band’s unique sound
and attitude combine smoothly with the professional tools and commitment to
carve out a singular spot in the history of music.
It is the Fall of 2004, and E-Lie is making big waves for a young group.
We have performed at some of Portland’s finest music venues, and won our
round in the KUFO Battle of the Bands. We can play for many hours, but we
like to do two 45 minute sets, if given the choice.
Our play list is mostly original material, with a few of our favorite covers
thrown in for flavor. E-Lie is available for private bookings and club or
concert appearances and can contact other performers to share bookings upon
request.
