Bio

President and founder of Urban Eyez Arts, a passionate music composer, singer, guitarist, poet and lyricist, Elin Wolf is a man of many talents, but of a single vision. “I want to write in every genre and perform on every stage. I see myself composing for television, movies, theater, video games, orchestras…I plan on creating the soundtracks for life.”

Like many music greats, Elin developed a strong interest in music as a child, singing in the church choir. “Music was sometimes the only thing that allowed me to release what I otherwise could not say or had a hard time expressing. Now, it gives me a chance to openly share with people I have never met something personal that in some way speaks directly to their situation. For me, its one of those universal truths…Everybody speaks music.” In high school and college, he honed his skills, by performing with various quartets and quintets, but it wasn’t until he graduated from college and became a solo artist that he realized his unyielding passion for composing music.

Now, embracing multiple genres of music, Elin Wolf’s style, urban by design, hip-hop laced, R&B saturated, soul seasoned, funk filled, and theatrically teased, is an eclectic melting pot of melodies, harmonies and rhythms boldly and effectively incorporating a cadre of instruments and sounds from around the world. He cultivates his incredible ability to create music from listening to and studying the music of Quincy Jones, Isaac Hayes, Sam Cooke, Etta James, Lena Horne, The Temptations, Frank Sinatra, Rachelle Farrell, Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbet, Shirley Ceaser, Michael Jackson, 2 Pac, Common, The Fugees, Baby Face, Boyz II Men, Whitney Houston, Duke Ellington, and Beethoven, and many others, who inspire his eclectic and soulful sound.

An uncommonly gifted writer/producer/arranger, Elin has placed scores in The Oukumo, an annual Atlanta-based Right’s of Passage production, tracks with emerging R&B artist Noriko, a few up and coming Atlanta based hip-hop artists, and in the production, The Journey. “I place music in works that I believe will be powerful agents of change. My passion stems from my desire to compose and create melodies that will invoke and inspire emotional breakthrough and positive change in people’s lives.”

Beyond writing music, Elin also has a deep desire to be on the stage and the big screen. He has graced the stage many times before in productions such as A Raisin in the Sun, Blues Street (where he composed the theme song), the Amen Corner and most recently, A Change Gonna Come: The Sam Cooke Story. Elin is a member of the national Poet’s Society, where he has exhibited his skill at twisting words like wire, creating transient currents in every controlled release. He uses his ability to write connectedly and deliberately to establish raw, immediate connections with people.

Whether in writing, in music, or on stage, Elin expresses through his uncanny ability to portray the humanity in art, the passion of what entertainment connoisseurs call “a natural”. It is his dedication to the integrity of his work that makes him a true artist.
