What started as a small basement-recording project four years ago in an Ann Arbor, Michigan evolved into an eclectic mix of genres and musical personnel. Now based in Austin, Texas, The Biographers play a variety of original tunes informed by alt-pop, neo-folk, and classical music. The group features a colorful combination of ukulele, fender rhodes, accordion, and cello all supported by acoustic guitar, upright bass, and percussion. Fronted by lead singer/songwriter Elisa Ferrari and featuring composer Ian Dicke on guitar, the band has played extensively throughout Austin and the Southwest. The BiographerÂ’s lush vocal harmonies, ornate chord progressions, and surreal arrangements create a haunting sound that is uniquely their own.
