"Feature Article in Siren Song Magazine"

Bask in the warm glow of rhapsodist Elisa Korenne as her honest vocals offer stories of love and loss. From the first notes of her artful acoustic guitar playing, the rest of the world disappears and you will be captivated by her humble musicality. Reminiscent of Sarah McLachlan's earlier albums, each song is contemplatively revealing. And Korenne's skilled strumming provides a seductive counter-rhythm to every heartache and adventure revealed by her luxurious voice.

"A&R Review of the Album Favorite"

"Superb, sexy, sultry, and soulful is Elisa Korenne's Favorite. Her vocal strength is outstanding and I would compare it to any female singer-songwriter in existence today. She has the ability to transport you to different places, spaces, and time in a variety of moods and sentiments. My favorite song on the album is the powerful Find My Strength. Another outstanding track is Instead with its haunting melody reminiscent of old Irish folktales. Other favorites of mine are About, Honest Lies, and Marrow. "

"CD Baby Homepage-Featured Review"

One of the best albums we've ever heard....With the attitude of female country, the grounded rootsy sound of Americana and the accessibility of folk rock, Elisa Korenne serves up a convincing, professional album that straddles itself between Melissa Etheridge, Aimee Mann, Veruca Salt and Jann Arden. Even while she draws from various genres as different as adult contemporary and Americana country, her sound is cohesive, well-blended and really damn catchy. For those who lean towards adult female rock, this lady has guts, substance and yet, she never loses her elegant touch.

"Singer & Musician Magazine Top 50 Indie Releases"

TOP 50 NEW INDIE ARTIST RELEASE PICK: "Elisa Korenne's newest CD, Favorite, couldn't be released on a better-named label. Edgy and Elegant truly describes Favorite, and it's sure to be just that as soon as youlisten. When the opening track crackled with radio static and a hollow sound, I really wondered what I was in for. Then there were layers of drums, guitars, and bass that only accentuated Elisa Korenne's beautiful, mellow vocals. With unique lyrics like 'Twist-tie mouth wrapping up a puckered pout" and a gorgeous a cappella harmony on my person favorite track, 'Instead,' Elisa Korenne's new CD belongs on anyone's must play list."

"Pulse Weekly Review"

Korenne’s rich voice is amazingly addictive, similar to Sarah McLaughlin. This EP is very easy on the ears, swarming with emotional lyrics and riddled with good sounds. If you don’t believe us, check out the stellar guitar solo on Infatuation, the EP’s first track. Run, don’t walk, to the Big Apple today to hunt them down for your own copy because we’re not sharing. - Pulse Weekly

Bio

Pulse Weekly describes her voice as “rich” and “amazingly addictive.” Siren Song Magazine featured Elisa in their April issue and complimented her “luxurious voice,” “artful guitar playing,” and the songwriting of a “rhapsodist.” Elisa has received numerous accolades for songwriting including selection as a Finalist at the Sisters, Oregon Folk Festival Songwriting Competition and Philly Songwriters' "Road Songs" Competition and Honorable Mentions in Song of the Year 2004, Windrift 2003, and SongPrize 2004.

With her rich voice, smoldering live performances, and elegant songcraft, Elisa Korenne stands out even in the high caliber New York City music scene. Elisa blends husky vocals, engaging lyrics, and catchy melodies to create a raw, moody sound with a rock flair. In any venue, Elisa brings edge, energy, and the rare ability of consummate performers to keep an audience riveted.

Elisa has over a decade of experience performing and writing indie rock, blues, and folk. As the lead singer of the New Haven-based funk-blues band Blue Fountain Diner, Elisa Korenne played with Buffalo Tom, G. Love & Special Sauce, and Parliament. In 2001, Elisa founded the rock band ‘Lolett’ to add ambient guitar textures and funk- and R&B-inspired grooves to her songs. Now playing solo, new audiences across the country have started to pay attention to Elisa Korenne’s music.

For four years starting in 1996, Elisa took a break from public performing while she got her master’s degree and founded an international technology nonprofit. In early 2000, Elisa reconnected with her first love, music, and began to write a new repertoire to reflect her musical and personal development. Performing around New York City, Elisa has created a sound that combines vocal intensity, sharp, contemplative lyrics, and a driving groove inspired by contemporary folk, rock, funk, R&B, pop, electronica, and soul. Elisa performs regularly at venues across the northeastern US.
