"A personal review."

The beautiful, talentuous and elegant Elite, invited us tonight through myspace to her gig at Sketch.

Elite was singing under a lamp which looked like a giant spider made of architect lights, and behind her a window door where the glass was replaced by mirrors, she was sitting with her guitar, legs elegantly crossed, and very present, so in the mirror we could see her back and the public! She sent her gorgeous songs.

How to describe the sound, electro pop sound, like a years 2000 version of Eurhythmics, I make this comparison with Annie Lenox, because Elite has a beautiful voice and she's using pop and electro to carry great song writing.

She's strong because she accepts to expose her sensitivity. Talks about love from girls point of view, all what she says talk to me! My friend Alice said that's sometime she also wants to say " don't you wanna be in love with me?" I agreed. I think that it's what makes a great song, when somebody has the courage to express the inner thoughts of others! I told that to Elite and she said that she was trying to be honest! I love that, because there are all these people around who keep pretending that everything goes for the best in the best world, you finish by feeling so guilty of it, and so inadequate! She sang some song that aren't on her CD, and I particularly love the last one called "The question"

I think that Elite has everything to become huge; I see how difficult it must be to go to all these people to try to promote your self. Anyway the songs are talking by themselves so….

"a Review by Amy Lotsberg Producer of Collected Sounds"

My first impression from the photo on the cover is that she reminds me of a very young punked out Sarah McLachlan circa 1989. Cute. I mean that in the best way possible. If you know me at all you'll know any comparison to Sarah M is indeed a good thing coming from me.

That's where the comparisons to Sarah stop however. Elite's music really couldn't be much different. But it's still great.

These songs are well written both in melody and lyric. Very endearing. Especially to an old 80s gal like myself. There's definitely something about the production that rings 80s alterna-pop to me. Between the synthesizer's prominent part and the danceable drum line I'm enjoying it greatly.

Her voice is also very appealing and is a great match for the music.

Today my favorite track is "4 Worse or 4 Better". It makes me want to get up and shake it all Molly-Ringwald-in-"Breakfast Club" style.

I also like "Don't You Wanna Be in Love with Me?" which I can imagine being played on the radio and that would be a lovely thing.

But really all these songs are a blast.

Now don't think I am dissing her in anyway, the songs do still sound fresh and that's a very hard thing to do when you're using a genre and style that was popular 20 years ago. So I applaud her. This record is going in my personal regular rotation.

Bio

I was born in Israel. I moved to the UK 5yrs ago and I am now a UK Citizen.

I started music by playing the piano at the age of 4. By 6 I was taking professional lessons.

At the age of 10 I won my first musical competition by penning a song about the red and green men in the traffic lights. The song was used nationally to teach school kids road safety, and I was awarded first place and a prize from the chief of police.... aaahhh.

At the age of 14 I was awarded a place at Thelam Yalin, Israel's most prestigious music, dance and acting school. I trained hard, with my previous lessons it extends into 10yrs of vocal, classical, jazz, dance and creative writing.
I sang solo for the Philharmonic Orchestra and even learnt the double bass!!

By the time I was 16 I was awarded a postion at Berklee Contempoary School Of Music in the USA. One the worlds best. However, I had other plans.... enough of schools and musos.

I broke out into the world and joined my first rock band.... I was kicked out a few months later for upstaging the boys!!

So I locked myself away and wrote some songs that I liked, and that I wanted to hear. I teamed up briefly with a known producer and we recorded an album in a bomb shelter on a kibbutz! Unfortunatly that album never saw the light of day and we split soon after.

I did various projects and sessions but it was at this point that I realised that my passions would never be encouraged, believed or fullfilled all the time I remained in Israel. So I packed my bags and hit the shores of Britian.

The UK has been kind to me. My songwriting and performances have flourished here. People have started to sit up and listen. And the more that happens, the better I get!

I need your help though. If you like what you hear/see please spread the word by telling your friends about these free downloads from my Members Area. You'll find all the details on my website.
