Rock/Pop music inspired by country, folk/Singer-Songwriter and R&B genres.

Biography

I am an American-Greek-Danish 29 year old female singer and songwriter. My aim is to able to live on music professionally one fine day, and in the process begin to collaborate with other musicians that can contribute instrumentally and technically to the composition and production of my songs. My focus is on creating melodic vocals and moving lyrics that either inspire, enlighten, entertain, tell a story or simply evoke strong emotion. My main instrument applied in my songwriting is my singing voice! I hope to be of interest to producers or other professional musicians out there for these very reasons.

Thanks to You

Written By: Elizabeth Christensen

Thanks To You

Thank you for life and implicit bliss
I know the touch of fortune’s kiss
Everyday a holy light
Shines on me to guide my stride

Thank you for home and the great outdoors
Safe to explore, for your grace is my shield and sword

All through my days
You grant me the power of rejoicing
In every way
I owe you the pleasure of voicing…
Voicing my thanks to you
‘Cause you are the….

Refrain:

Magic cloud I bounce off when I fall
You’re the rainbow I glide on through all
When I’m far away from human care
You’re the one who always flies me there

And so I wonder from where do you come
Must be a place of marvel and charm
For to send love so undeserved
Beyond my dreams,
And all that is seen and heard
Beyond all words

Thank you for peace
The peace that your guard shed on me
My mind is at ease
Knowing your eyes are on me
Your eyes are on me
‘Cause you are the

Refrain:

Magic cloud I bounce off when I fall
You’re the rainbow I glide on through all
When I’m far away from human care
You’re the one who always flies me there

You’re the mouth that sends my breath of hope
As I suffocate trying to cope
The sweet river running my life’s stream
And the sunlight causing me to see

Thanks to you I’m alive
Your ghost is there by my side
When everything else seems so wrong
You’re so right
Thanks to you I’m alive
Thanks to you I’m alive

The Cry of Earth

Written By: Elizabeth Christensen

A song in 5 languages

The Cry of Earth

(English Verse:)
We dream about a wonderland
A paradise for beast and man
The magic wand is in our hands
The will’s sinking in quicksand

Yes we hold a zest for life
We wanna see it all before we die
But how do we leave the world behind
Let’s see it through God’s eyes

Earthly beauty’s breathing for us
Though we choose to live for the ugly side of us
How unjust!

(Greek Bridge:)
‘Otan tis pairnoume horis agapi
Tote tha pligothei
I ge mas allo then antehi
Na kaei, na hathei,
Kommati, kommati

((Interpretation of Greek part: When we take from the earth without love, then it will be left wounded. It can no longer stand getting burned, losing itself piece by piece))

(Danish Refrain:)
Sådan vinder vi aldrig…
Jorden er din far og mor
Jorden er din oldemor
Hold af den
Plej den når du ta’r
Skænk af det du har

Jorden er din bror
Jorden er dit barn
Jorden er kilden til din væren her
Jorden er kilden til din væren her

((Interpretation of Danish part: We never win that way…
The earth is your father and mother. The earth is your great grandmother. Care for it. Nurse it when you take. Give from what you’ve got. The earth is your brother. The earth is your child. The earth is the source of your existence here.))

(English verse:)
Excess CO2 and global warming
Foolish wars, industrial swarms
Contamination of the elements
It’s all in our hands

Our children need a world to breathe in
We’re taking more than we ever needed
…Cheatin'!

(Spanish Bridge:)
La tierra tiene una fuerza
Ciertamente asombrosa
Mientras hacemos la guerra
Ella es siempre creativa y generosa

((Interpretation of Spanish part: The earth has a force surely amazing. As we are at war, it is always creative and generous))

(Danish Refrain:)
Jorden øser og nåder
Jorden er din far og mor
Jorden er din oldemor
Hold af den
Plej den når du ta’r
Skænk af det du har

Jorden er din bror
Jorden er dit barn
Jorden er kilden til din væren her
Jorden er kilden til din væren her

((Interpretation of Danish part: The earth gives/serves abundantly and is gracious. The earth is your father... ---as first refrain---))

(English part)
Show the Earth you’re out there
She knows you make a difference
Who ever said you never cared?
Your love is greater
Than any hatred ever experienced

Hear the fall of noble trees
Listen o the waters weap
Hear the scream
Sense the hurt of father
Hear the cry of mother
The cry of wildlife
The shriek of a child
As their only world is burning
The earth is crying for some turning

(German Outro)
Die Freiheit besteht in der Wahrheit,
Die man zu Herzen einlasst
Sie niederreisst die Wände des Hass,
Der Gier, und der Gleichgültigkeit
Sie führt nach dem Friede
Sie führt nach einem vereint Geist

((Interpretation of German part: Freedom consists in the truth, taken into one’s heart. It tears down the walls of hate, greed and indifference. It leads to piece. It leads to one united spirit.))

Can we see through nature’s eyes?
Can we see through nature’s eyes?

Till the Curtains Have Fallen

Written By: Elizabeth Christensen

Don’t let me go…
I pray to be there till the end

Some keep a life in a happy corner
He missed the fun to feel my pain
Some will hold Pandora's Box
Always choose to keep it locked
So they can stay so plain sane
He said it’s quite alright to cry out
This raging fear
Is it okay to run from here?

Refrain:

Till the curtains have fallen down
Let me be there till the sun has set
And if I run away again
Hold me back, hold me to the ground
Hold me back for another round

Don’t let me be just a zombie sleepwalking
I want to live life till the end
But I won’t dance where danger dwells
Don’t let me lean on that door to hell
I’ve got to run from those death bells
When is it right enough to cry out
This raging fear?
When is it right enough to run from here?

[Refrain]

He calls the God that he’s been promised
Praying to spare this soul of mine
He’s the balance in my bones
He is my very home
And the air that I live on
Is the time for to go
So very near?
Is this the way I’ll go from here?

[Refrain]

Let me be there
Let me be there
Let me be there

The Dream Life

Written By: Elizabeth Christensen

The Dream Life

You say to your brain
It’s quite fine this way
That you don’t need a change?
But every day you take the same train
And you ask the sky
Is life supposed to be so shy?

You yearn to fly
Fly over these walls
But who’s gonna save you if you should fall
So you’re tossing your dolls
Test dummies and balls
Vicariously reaching the wonders beyond those walls

REFRAIN
Face your heart
This is not the life that you sought
This is not the life that you dreamt of
You work hard all day
You struggle in vain
Tell me what’s worth the stay?
What does it pay?

Just a little dough
To keep you in the rat race
To keep up the show
To kick you back in place

You’re wandering in circles
And the same old squares
Surrounded by colors you know well
Even the color purple, is the same old purple
You blend and paint
Though it doesn’t even change one shade
No, it doesn’t even change one shade
You’re stuck in that phase

You yearn to sail
Cross that sea of despair
But who’s gonna find you
Who’s gonna guide you
Should you lose your way out there
It seems there’d be no one to come
Yet you’ll be safe, safe and sound
If you’ll consider your journey done
Your faith will ensure that your ship runs aground
Once you

[REFRAIN]

But your soul breaks down
You know your dreams are drowning
You know your pride has been uncrowned
And bound
Cuz you’ve sold out
You’ve given up, you’ve given up somehow
You’ve given up somehow

You’ve given up somehow, you’ve given up somehow, you’ve given up, you’ve given up somehow….

You think this was in store
In store for you
But you can be so much more
If you search for the doors
That you've shunned to explore
You hold the key within
To open up
So you can say to yourself…

You’ve found your heart

Nightmare

Written By: Elizabeth Christensen

Nightmare

My eerie dreams
Open up a world
Where I can scream
And let my mind untwirl

Though I remember
A frightening image
That I’d endeavored to forget

A cold December
In a forlorn village
A friend dismembered by a fiend

It always comes as a shock
The memory hits me like a rock
I can still hear the pounding knock
Of the killer when he struck

I’m living a nightmare
A brutal truth that leers and stares
In the eyes of my despair
Oh where
Where can I find relief from this scare?

I’m all alone
In this great black hole
A deserted soul
Lost in a terror full-grown

I’ve cried a sea of tears
For my dear Carmen’s defeat
By a beast that lurks so near

I pray to flee from here
Before he comes for me
I pray to clear my blocks of fear

It always comes as a shock
The memory hits me like a rock
I can still hear the pounding knock
Of the killer when he struck

It always comes as a shock
The image hits me like a rock
I can still hear the pounding knock
Of the killer when he struck

A living nightmare
A brutal truth that leers and stares
In the eyes of my despair
Who can release me from this snare?
Oh where?
Where can I find relief from this scare?
Where can I find relief from his scare?

Discrimination

Written By: Elizabeth Christensen

They know me by the skin
That I’m living in
But if they looked inside
They’d realize
That’s my disguise

Little Ahmed looks
In his English books
To avoid the stare
From his US class there
That had learned to compare

That had learned to be aware and beware
Of the Arab air

Refrain:
Won’t stand for more!
Won’t stand for more!

Discrimination
And ethos so far
From embracing the chase
Of good faith

We’re praying for
We’re praying for

A vindication
Of innocent hearts
Prejudged guilty by their race
Or birth place

The seed of creation is shared among all
Regardless of our races
Regardless of our faces
Regardless of our national walls
Regardless of irrational trawls

Verse:

We’re tired of a life
Where we bleed in the fight
For a simple need
Of the human breed
To be ethnically free

How long does it take to discover?
No one’s like any other
What does it take to recover?
From this prejudiced creed
We’re searching for a the vital deed
That makes the world take heed

Refrain x 2

Last refrain:
....
Regardless of our ethnical walls
Regardless of our fictional walls
Regardless of our fictional walls

The Untamed Dance

Written By: Elizabeth Christensen

Verse:

Dancing on the moon
Moving smoothly to the strangest tune
I should get back to earth soon
But If I do they’ll send me to the zoo

Close your eyes and take off
Dance along the path your trance is made of
Now you got stardust to shake off
Sprinkle some on me, let’s share a dance before wake up

There’s a rhythm coming to me through a dark void
A melody is humming through me, born to be enjoyed

Yeah eh eh
Oh oh oh...

Refrain:

Gliding cross the floor
And flipping through the air
If you can take some more
Then let your body dare
Spinning in the heat
And flashing like a flame
Breaking to the beat
Giving in to primal physical games
Giving in to the drug of dancing untamed

Verse:

Dancing on dear venus
Liberate your style cuz nobody can see us
The music won’t fail to feed us
With passion and love, it has the power to free us

There’s a rhythm coming to through a dark void
A melody is humming through me born to be enjoyed

Yeah eh eh

Oh oh oh oh oh oh

Refrain x 2
