Elizabeth D Henry

I have written poetry for years and have now began to set it to a tune. I am just wanting to know if my one-of-a-kind song writing is any good. At least I finally got it together to enter a song.

I am a Licensed Female Journeyman Electrician (26 years) and Electrical Technician at a Power Plant (22 Years). I have written poetry it seems all my life (I carry pocket poems around to work on them). and desired to set them to music. Now I have began to do that.

Grandma's Song

Written By: Elizabeth D Henry

Grandma said Darlin, take your time, love is something that you do in your spare time. Education, God and wisdom is your way outta here, with a college education you can love without fear. Fear not, fear not tomorrow, God is already there.
Pray not for an easy life, pray to be a strong person, be as wise as a serpent and as gentle as a dove.
Grandma said darlin, keep a journal all your days, you'll keep it today and tomorrow it'll keep you. And every now and then I have some cheesecake and wine and think of all the things that grandma said,
Work hard, be kind, be happy and never never give in.
Grandma said that power cannot be destroyed but that people die. But the prayers they prayed and the love they gave would never die, fear not, fear not tomorrow God is already there.
Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me I once was lost but now I'm found, was blind but now I see.

I have submitted one song to the songwriting contest to Merefest 2008 and have a smashing song entitled "Bea Olive" that has been written years ago half set to a tune.

Set List

Grandma's Song, Bea Olive. Lots of heros and poems I've written over the years to set to tunes yet.
