Bio

White Girl Wasted, visionary, skateboarder, rapper, hustler, a witch burnin sage and incense freestyling at skateparks. Skateboarding down the dark streets sipping booze out of a bottle wrapped with a brown paper bag. Born in the late eighties in Idaho but lived all over, she has a do-it-yourself fashion sense reflecting of her early Goodwill back to school shopping days. Think punk meets gangster rap smoked in a peace pipe. She rules Blackout City, the lost city that exists in the Devils Gulch. Ellemc didn’t receive formal teachings until a late age, that’s why her mind is different than yours. With her mystical intentions and insane ideas the world will have a new ruler called ELLE MC aka Swagatha Christie.
-Danny Gaddis.

Ellemc was born in a small town in McCall, Idaho to two hippie parents who made a living off of odd jobs and peddling pita bread off the back of a bike. She didn’t learn to read til 4th grade and never attended a full year of school until 7th grade. Her years growing up were spent between living out of a 60s volkswaggen van In Mexico, at rainbow gatherings and barter fares, traveling across Europe and Africa living out of backbacks and eating off a one burner camping stove, and skateboarding. She first found rap when she was rummaging thru her older brothers tape case and popped a House of Pain tape into her yellow walkman. “Put on your Shit Kickers and Kick Some Shit was forever emblazoned in her mind, along with the Grateful dead, Nirvana, Fleetwood Mac, ACDC, GnR, Ace of Base, TLC, Alanis Morisette, Janis Joplin, The Misfits, Cyndi Lauper, NWA, Beastie Boys, 2Pac, Biggie, Mac Dre, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Outkast and Goodie Mob and Madonna.

“ I was a late bloomer, never had much structured learning. I never fit in. The “ normal” kids always made fun of me, I never had cool clothes or cool shit, we shopped at goodwill and value village. I was a hippie child that never had a place in the world. My parents had a 60’s Ford Falcon Wagon and a 60’s VW bus. I used to make them drop me off away from school and I would skate or walk the rest of the way cuz all the other kids had suburbans and made fun of me. Slowly over the years, I came to identify with rap thru the skateboarding lifestyle. A lot of the guys I knew would freestyle at parties and the skate park and I loved rap so I would freestyle with ‘em but I never wrote songs or thought I would ever go on a stage let alone have multiple albums.”

You can call ellemc a gypsy. A hippie. A skateboarder. A rapper. An artist. She’s done more than most people have done in their life. From competing in national snowboard championships, undergoing several knee surgeries, breaking numerous bones, to living all over California out of her car and in a trailor park, working 9 to 5 jobs and skateboarding in her free time. At one point she was homeless and jobless ending up in Portland with a couple boxes of belongings and a couple hundred dollars to her name. After getting a job waiting tables at age 22 she got herself back on her feet and later that year decided to enroll in community college for Photograpy, multimedia and web design classes. Soon after she dropped out because she couldn’t see herself barred to the limits of a classroom or working in an office and was paying straight cash because she didn’t want to owe for school loans.

After this she went thru a haze of partying hard and working at a bar. She attended a lot of live rap shows and one night standing in the crowd she realized that music was what she had to do, that she couldn’t just be a person in the crowd. She made a commitment to herself that night that music was going to be her life. Within the next couple months, she got a beat, wrote her first song “Pickin up Stixx” and that was the beginning of ellemc.

She decided to push her gypsie tendancies away and settled down in Portland Oregon long enough to establish herself as an artist but struggled amidst the unwelcoming throng of underground rappers and a city that didn’t widely embrace mainstream rappers. ElleMC’s first album “The Lurk” was released in January 2010, only 6 months after she ever wrote a song or recorded in a real studio. The release of The Lurk drew a following due to the tight-knit skateboarding community and the internet. Her 2nd album, Huntin4Haters, which will be available on datpiff.com, brings ellemc’s style, flavor and struggle together for a complete package and proof of her improvement in all aspects of the game.

Ellemc’s music could best be described as dirty skate rap with pop, rock, and punk influences, served with a side of not giving a fuck. Her rap styles range from heavy dirty south anthems and club bangers with heavy punchlines, to beats laced with dark guitar riffs to Madonna/Cyndi lauper influenced tracks that she sings on intertwined with fast rapping.
