"Elliot Root"

I’m digging Elliot Root. My favorite is “We Move”. Love it! The drums, the beat, it just makes “ME move”. They’ll be here in town for SXSW and I’m so excited to see them live. I kind of wonder if they just may be the next Jason Mraz/Gavin DeGraw…just sayin’. Check them out and take a listen here http://elliotroot.com/sounds/.

Bio

Here’s a short story for you. Kid gets guitar at 18 when he can’t decide what to do with his life, by 19 and some stroke of luck he has opened a radio event for Jason Mraz, had opening slots at the countries largest music festival and made stops at venues throughout the Midwest. By 20, he has made some new friends and has headed for, you guessed it, Nashville, TN. By 21, He has a new band and a new record and is ready for anyone and everyone to hear it. The end

Or the end of the precursor really. Is it the mold or is it something different? Might have said a slight variant of the mold before hearing that new record and seeing the band live. That new record being “We Move” by the band Elliot Root founded by, the kid, Scott Krueger and his friends he made along the way Sean Truskowski and Jake Nelson. After hearing the record, ((That at its least, is an impressive outing that was written, recorded, produced, and mixed by the band themselves. At it’s most an honestly moving collection of songs that foreshadow what is sure to be an even further impressive catalog to come)) you can’t help but be eased by the comforting sense of familiarity, though swept by the definite thrill of passion and what the band would call “movement”. These feelings only intensify when seeing the band live. In Austin, TX for the Red Gorilla and SXSW festivals, with the full lineup of Scott Krueger, Sean Truskowski, Jake Nelson, Warren Whitten, Justin Smith and Michael Gutierrez the band made quick work of filling the room and showing off a live prowess that doesn’t usually come standard with such a young band. After witnessing the genuine connection with the crowd, I have to say that I would no longer consider this group a product of the mold, but a product of a bunch of guys really loving music and the people who like to hear it. So now, here comes the most important part of the story, the here and now. Right now Elliot Root’s record “We Move” is out and they are gearing up to hit the road and make a play at winning over the musical hearts of people everywhere. Elliot Root is Scott Krueger, Sean Truskowski, Jake Nelson, Eddie “Schroeder” Whitelaw, Warren Whitten, Justin Smith, and Michael “Miqui” Gutierrez. Keep an ear out, and your eyes open.
