I am a high school science teacher by day and a singer/songwriter at heart. I've done plenty of gigs and recordings in the past and I'm back with a whole lot of new material. Love to sing, love to play music.

Biography

I started singing for audiences when I was just a kid (8 years old). Got my first guitar at age 10 and started writing songs. Had a lot of trouble in school and left at age 15 to play music. Did the street musician thing, lots of local gigs, bands, demo tapes, etc. Went back to school at age 22 and became a science teacher. But I've always loved singing and playing music ... so here I am. Hope you like my songs.

She's Not My Girl

Written By: Elliott Kimmel

She’s not my girl but she is a beauty,
She’s not my sweet, sweet honey bee.
She’s not my girl but she is a cutie,
Oh I wish I had her company.

Ooh baby, why do you look so good?
You want to be just friends, it’s understood.
But how am I to keep from a-loving you?
I might get in too deep so what do I do?

She’s not my girl but she is a beauty,
She’s not my sweet, sweet honey bee.
She’s not my girl but she is a cutie,
Oh I wish I had her company.

Honey, honey how can I make you feel?
Tell me baby, where does it hurt? I’ll heal.
More than likely I’ll be the one to cry,
‘Cause I’m a fool to want to give you my ...

She’s not my girl but she is a beauty,
She’s not my sweet, sweet honey bee.
She’s not my girl but she is a cutie,
Oh I wish I had her company.
Yeah I wish I had the lady’s company.

Never Been a Girl Like You

Written By: Elliott Kimmel

I bet they never thought we’d make it this long
I bet they would have never guessed,
That we could have a million miles between us
And love would see us pass the test.

There’s nothing anyone could do to tempt me
No one who could please me more,
And what I have with you will keep me faithful
Cause you’re the one I’m waiting for.

There’s never been a girl like you for me
And there will never be another one,
You take away the rain, make it sunny again
I can’t believe what you have done.

There’s never been a girl like you for me
And there will never be a sweeter line,
Than what you’re telling me, when you say we’ll be
Together ‘till the end of time.

Yesterday I did some rock and roll on YouTube
Today I think I’ll play some blues,
Tomorrow I might get a couple new subscribers
Who like the kinda’ songs I choose.

I’m getting in the groove of doing things the right way
Thank you for your helping hand,
And now I got a little something just for you
I hope that you will understand.

Teenage Happenstance

Written By: Elliott Kimmel

It’s 8:15 when the first bell rings,
And it’s just another day at school.
You switch your cell phone on to vibrate mode,
And it’s time to be the teacher’s fool.

Your friend is sitting in algebra,
And you’re in his-to-ry.
But that boy sitting next to you, he’s kinda’ cute,
There might be some che-mis-try.

Then you get a text from your BFF,
Saying “OMG LMAO”.
So behind your books, where nobody looks,
You text her back and say to tell you more.

And soon your meeting on a washroom break,
She tells you ‘bout the dance.
Some girl that you know got drunk,
And threw up on the principal’s pants ... just a bit of teenage happenstance.

First class is done and you try to run,
To your locker on the second floor.
But some niner girls, comparing nails and curls,
Block the hole that you are making for.

They’re talking all about the Jonas boys,
They’re Miley-Mandy clones.
Thank god you got an iPOD full,
Of vintage rolling stones.

‘Cause you’re a real cool teen and a drama queen,
You’re a smiling face on the YouTube screen.
And though your hair is brown, you’d rather dye it green,
Per chance ... are you a little teenage happenstance?

The lunchtime crowd is just too damn loud,
So your “peeps” and you head for the hall.
When I come walking by, you’re first to tell me “hi”,
And ask me to sit down against the wall.

I wish I had the time to sit and talk,
And find out how you’ve been.
Though I’m a teacher and I'm running late,
I want to know the state you’re in.

‘Cause you’re a real cool teen and a drama queen,
You’re a smiling face on the YouTube screen.
And though your hair is brown, you’d rather dye it green,
Per chance ...

I want to wish you well in your teenage years,
I hope you reach your goals, conquer all your fears.
Forget the ridicule, the heartache and tears,
Just dance ... like you’re a little teenage happenstance!
