(Well - First, I'm not a band...) Guaranteed, there is something that I've written that will make you either sing along, tap your feet, smile, identify with something, or think... Often, all of those things in the same song. Hell - more than often - regularly...

OneLess Place For The Working Man

Written By: Ellis M Woodward jr

Intro -
I get up in the morning, put on a clean, blue shirt
and head out to my working day.
Except for some coffee that I spill on myself,
after work I could put that shirt away.
I guess it's some kind of progress to stay so clean,
but I love working hard with my hands.
Now it seems that each time we re-set the table,
there's one less place for the working man.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a complainer
and I don't want to live in the past;
I just never thought in my wildest dreams
that the future would get here so fast.
With my kind of skills in the world today,
it's hard to know where you stand -
And it seems that each time we re-set the table,
there's one less place for the working man.

I used to have a little business with my brother on the side;
we could fix any kind of car.
Now with all these computerized whistles and bells,
hell, we don't even know where the parts are...

So, I sit in this chair in this clean, blue shirt
and type commands to the plant with these keys.
And my job gets smaller and it's nobody's fault -
not the Germans, not the Japanese…
And even though I could tear this whole place down
and put it all back together by hand,
it seems that each time we re-set the table,
there's one less place for the working man.
Yes, it seems that each time we re-set the table,
there's one less place for the working man.
