El May is the musical moniker of Australian multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter, Lara Meyerratken.

The debut El May album has received airplay on KCRW and KEXP since it's release in 2010, and is currently in rotation on KCRW's Eclectic 24.

El May songs have featured in TV shows Melrose Place, The Lying Game, Pretty Little Liars and Jane by Design. Michelle Williams performs her song ‘Hero’ in the 2005 movie ‘The Baxter’. Other soundtrack credits include ‘Our Idiot Brother’ (2011) and Dutch film ‘Life In One Day’ (2009).

El May has opened for Feist, Dar Williams, Wye Oak, Ben Lee, Explosions in the Sky and Britta & Dean.

Lara has composed and recorded original music for Comcast, Austrian Telekom, Oronaine Skincare, (RED), DEL software and Kelloggs.

She was the Musical Director for the Cannes ‘Best Original Music’ Gold Lion Award winner for Match.com in 2010, and won the 2005 ‘Best Cover Art’ ARIA Award for the Ben Lee album ‘Awake is The New Sleep’.
