"Chatterbox - Elovay"

Hey, tell us a bit about yourself.

What’s up! We’re an indie surf pop band from all over (with and Australian singer) that formed in LA around four years ago. We’ve just finished recording our new EP – packed full of twangalicious riffs, our first single came out two weeks ago and we’re here to make you give a f@*k!

Where did the new single come from?

This song is written about the struggle in LA which I think most people in this city can relate to. It’s about the moment you realise no one really cares about your problems and you have no choice but to sort it out or go home. So many people in this city are going off blind faith that what they’re doing will work out in the end, and these lyrics kind of question that mentality. Are we even able to recognize when it has worked out or are we too busy worrying about the next thing? Success is a staircase, not a doorway and that harsh truth is a tough pill to swallow because we all want success RIGHT NOW.

Although the lyrics in this song are kind of serious and a bit of a cry for help, we were able to capture a really fun and upbeat vibe which I love. This was the first time we worked with a real producer and it made all the difference. He was the guiding light on this song and really helped us define our sound and set the tone for the rest of the EP. Goodbye sad boy grunge, hello twangy surf pop! – Xavier Brinkman (singer/songwriter)

Is there more content in the pipeline and what’s on the horizon for you?

Plenty! We have two more singles to release before the full five song EP comes out in September, accompanied by music videos, LA shows and a west coast tour in October. We are about to shoot the first music video for “Sort It Out” and are currently casting kids to play “younger us” in the video, should be fun – stay tuned! Releasing and promoting everything off this EP is really our main focus for the rest of this year and we’ll be doing everything we can to get the word out until our lyrics are stuck in your head FOREVER! hehe - Purple Melon

"Elovay - Sort It Out"

We checked out the new single from Elovay and we liked it so much, we’re now sharing it with you. “Sort It Out” continues Elovay’s trend of writing fun, catchy, and accessible indie rock with a sharp, surfy edge. The quartet recently recorded their latest EP in Venice Beach and the summery and beachy weather clearly made its impact on their jams… Give it a listen via the widget below. - Buffablog

"Premiere: Wanna Forget About the World? Elovay Have the Perfect Track to “Sort It Out”"

Sometimes the only thing you can do is to turn up the volume, close your eyes, and forget about the world for a few moments. And Elovay’s new song “Sort It Out” is your ticket to escape far, far away to brighter days where nothing matters but the beat. The Los Angeles based quartet’s new track is a combination of laid back indie surf-rock riffs and soothing lyrics that will have you completely chilled out and ready for the weekend. Singer/songwriter Xavier Brinkman explains the meaning behind “Sort It Out”:

“This song is written about the struggle in LA which I think most people in this city can relate to. It’s about the moment you realize no one really cares about your problems and you have no choice but to “sort it out” or go home. So many people in this city are going off blind faith that what they’re doing will work out in the end, and these lyrics kind of question that mentality. Are we even able recognize when it has “worked out” or are we too busy worrying about the next thing? Success is a staircase, not a doorway and that harsh truth is a tough pill to swallow because we all want success RIGHT NOW.”

It’s easy to tell there’s lots of success in Elovay’s future with music like this, and you’ll enjoy hearing every step of their way up. Lucky for you, you won’t have long to wait for more—the band are putting out a new EP in September. Recorded at a studio in Venice Beach, you can hear the California summer soaking into every crevice of “Sort It Out”, and life ain’t so bad when the sun is shining. So crack open a cold one, hit play below, and chill to a chorus of “I feel your pain, I really do, and I feel the same”…

Bio

Known for their catchy choruses and riffs, Elovay is back with a new EP - set to release this summer. The indie surf-rock quartet teamed up with Grammy nominated producer Billy Mohler (Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, Awolnation, Macy Gray, Liz Phair) to record a new five track record at his studio in Venice Beach. A fitting location for the conception of the record, bursting with sun soaked beachy California twang and truly captures the essence of the band's west coast environment.

With the first single "Sort It Out" having dropped in June and the full EP out in September, Elovay will be firing on all cylinders playing shows and festivals from now until the end of the year in Southern California and up the west coast.
