Elska is a timeless hurricane of mysterious sound. With a name meaning ‘love’ in Icelandic, Elska’s allure is truly unique – she performs with an ethereal instrument not yet seen in popular music: a harp. Elska mixes her harp with a guitar, a piano and the modern technology of a loop pedal – creating music that feels contemporary, yet nostalgic. Performing as a one-woman-band, Elska’s songs echo Folk, Blues and Pop sensibilities and are highlighted by her soulful voice, percussive harp beats, and poetically fresh lyrics.

Growing up onstage as a tiny dancer with the Johnny Young Talent School, Elska was forever performing in concerts, eisteddfods, talent quests, or busking at the local Gold Coast markets. Ambitious in nature, she started her own music business at just 12-years-old. With her unique mix of contemporary harp and vocal, Elska quickly became a highly sought-after musician. By the time she turned 21, Elska had performed at over 1000 events; was awarded the title of four-time winner in Queensland for ‘Live Entertainment’ (1999-2002) at the prestigious Australian Bridal Industry Awards for Excellence; graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Popular Music; recorded over 20 original songs; had her music featured in short films; and performed in Los Angeles in front of prominent music producer Patrick Leonard (Pink Floyd, Elton John, Madonna).

For the past 5 years, Elska’s passion for creating and performing music was put on hold whilst embarking on motherhood. 2016 presented Elska with a massive soul-searching decision: ‘play it safe’ or ‘be fearless in what sets your soul on fire’. Once again, music chose Elska – a timeless hurricane of mysterious sound who you can’t box in, nor quite figure out. But you will never forget – because Elska is the best cup of nostalgia you ever dared to sip.
