Disneyland is Closing

Written By: Elton Costello

There's some trouble on Manhattan Island now
Too many lost, not enough found
I can't believe I cried
The planes don't fly
Everybody's tryin'
To figure out why

Souls climb toward the clear blue sky
God looks on with a comforting sigh
In a holy war where everyone's right
Even the White House has a sermon tonite

The Hall of Presidents is dark inside
Mickey Mouse just covered up his eyes
Space Mountain and the Waterslides
Time has stopped but we still got time for those crazy rides
But tonite i'll find the blessings in my life and count them one at at time
Even Disneyland is closing down tonite

Well I'm headin' to the mountainside
To find out what I'm feelin inside
Somethin' about a time of war that makes me wonder about what my life is for

And only god knows what's wrong or right
Sometimes you get too close to one side you don't see the light
Maybe i'll head to the beach
Put my feet in the sand
Imagine a world
With peace in every land

The Hall of Presidents is dark inside
Mickey Mouse just covered up his eyes
Space Mountain, The Waterslides
Time has stopped but we still got time for those crazy rides
But tonite i'll find the blessings in my life and count them one at at time
Even Disneyland is closing down tonite

World Famous Chef

Written By: Elton Costello

For $1,000 a plate.
You get candles and fine drapes.
In a room so dark you can't see.
The food you're gettin' we couldn't give away for free.

It's about presentation.
Tiny portions.
Combinations that are strange and creative.

I'm a world famous chef.
If I ain't hit your town it's next.
If you ain't heard of me yet, advertising takes care of it.
My cookbook hits the press the end of August.
Try my prunes with angel hair and asparagus.
It's my most famous dish.

For only 10 grand i'll cook you breakfast in your bed.
Chocolate covered onions with a mayonaise spread.
If you're entertaining frozen dinners help out in a pinch.
For $59.96 you get food worth 23 cents.

I'm a world famous chef.
If I ain't hit your town it's next.
If you ain't heard of me yet, advertising takes care of it.
My cookbook hits the press the end of August.
Try my prunes with angel hair and asparagus.
It's my most famous dish.

I'm cooking for the queen and the king tonite.
You see people will buy anything if it has the right price.

I'm a world famous chef.
If I ain't hit your town it's next.
If you ain't heard of me yet, advertising takes care of it.
My cookbook hits the press the end of August.
Try my prunes with angel hair and asparagus.
It's my most famous dish.

I'm world famous.
I'm a world famous chef.
If I ain't hit your town it's next.
You best clear your plate of the vegetables they are the best.
From deep in the forest.
Watch yourself.
Put a napkin on your chest.

Boston

Written By: Elton Costello

No it's not clear to me
Sounds like a symphony
Somewhere outside Beverly
They are calling for me

Sometimes the love you need
Comes when you start to believe
It's not about guarantees
It's about breaking free

They tell me it's cold up there
They tell me the sun just disappears
They tell me the roads are clear
And it's snowin' in Boston again

Somethin's gotten' into me
Guess they call it sanity
I never thought i'd leave what I thought I'd need

Sometimes you just let it go
Everything just starts to flow
My spirits are far from low
My friends they are the frozen leaves

They tell me it's cold up there
They tell me the sun just disappears
They tell me the roads are clear
And it's snowin' in Boston again

I'm About To Have A Tantrum

Written By: Elton Costello

They say stay positive, but that’s a life half lived
If you’re carryin’ an angry shout, you got to let it out
If you can’t find a helpin’ hand, just say say to hell with it

If you can’t pay the rent, ‘cause all your money’s spent
Give up your career, buy enough canned food for 100 years
Buy yourself a moving van, drive it from this land

Pick up the pace, there’s no time to waste, don’t stop as we fly thru space
This ain’t no joke, hold it in you choke, excuse me I’m a part of this human race
You shouldn’t have struck my match, now I’m hotter than the sun...
And I’m about to have a Tantrum

Along with the moving van, Get one of those trucks that carries gas
Connect it up with the fuel tank, You ain’t gonna stop for anything
Just fly thru the tolls, You won’t be coming back down this road

Extra tires, An Extra Motor, Some Extra Film, So you can take some photos
A generator, a refrigerator, a washing machine so you can clean your clothes
The holy bible that you got as a gift, so you can learn about how a new life begins

Meditate so god can guide you, Laugh at those who call you a damn fool
Late one nite, sneak into a zoo, Escourt the animals two by two
Before you finally hit the road, get everything at the pet food store

Head south to Cape Canaveral, Make a deal with the guy from mission control
Get a ship that can carry the load, Say goodbye to the world that you used to know
As they fire up the Rockets, There’s a red glare from your soul
Let yourself go

Pick Up A Job At Starbucks

Written By: Elton Costello

Should have been a Doctor, Should have been a lawyer
Or Maybe an Accountant like so many friends of mine
Should have learned some cookin
I'm gettin' older and I'm not as goodlooking
Can't seem to study and I think I'm losin' my mind

Tell me what are you gonna do? You find yourself with a dream that you just can't seem to lose. You get a job with a steady wage. Put away some for a rainy day. Settle into something new. Pick up a job at Starbucks too.

Do you want a Latte' or just some sugar in that coffee
Check out the new display of CDs.
Here's a pillow for your spine.
Guess I could get used to this. It's a lot better than feeling useless.
I even sell CD's sometimes.
