Bio
Elusive Illusion is a three-piece post-rock instrumental band from central Oklahoma. The group has a diverse sound, pulling influences from genre-giants like Pelican and Russian Circles as well as from bands such as Dredg, Thrice, Porcupine Tree, and Tool. Their songs range from epic discordant metal to soft ambient passages.
The trio is made up of guitarist Jayson Lewis, bassist Clint Haws, and drummer Kyle Haws. The three have been playing in different bands since 2004 with a rotating cast of vocalist that never quite fit their style, where they played numerous local gigs. In 2008 the group decided it was time to focus on music that they enjoyed and felt comfortable with, which brought the formation of Elusive Illusion.
Since this time the group has been working diligently in their home studio writing and recording their as-of-yet untitled independent release. The LP is slated for release through online download in the fall of 2010. The band is also working on arranging a slew of local shows to promote the album during the summer and fall.
