Elva began her music career at the age of four where she was asked on occasion by her family's friend, world famous Cuban Artist & Flutist, Jose Fajardo to play hand percussion with his band. Years later at the age of 10, she received her first guitar and she began playing cover tunes and writing her own songs. By the age of 17, she played in her first band with brother and drummer, Jim Jones in the band Rhythm Express and started playing the local clubs. In 1987, she met and played with Brad Evans at local open mic nights throughout the Houston area and became a regular act at The Last Concert Cafe.

In 1990 she began a duo act with Doug Clark Steiger and soon became a well-known act between Houston and Austin. In 1992-1993 the duo recorded their first individual albums "Waiting To Be Found" (Elva Jones) and "Is Someone Listening" (Doug Clark-Steiger). They played the main stage at Kerrville Folks Festival in 1993. The duo split in 1994 and Elva moved to Denver, CO, where she joined a local band, The Woodies Band, they played the local scene, private parties and charity events. After leaving the band, she decided to go back to a corporate job until 2005 when the bug hit her again.

In 2009 she met Audio Engineer, Dave Lohr of DML Audio, (www.DML-Audio.com) in Littleton, CO. David & Elva became friends and she recorded her last CD called "Reality Is..." released in June 2013. Dave M. Lohr is currently the sound engineer and on tour with Neil Young.

Currently, Elva has recorded a new album called "Every Now and Then" with long time friend, producer, singer/songwriter, musician Tom Prasada-Rao, www.tomprasadarao.com, due to be released in August 2016.
