Bio

Ely Falls is an indie pop band from Central Iowa that got their start in 2005 as Scott Monk and Dustin Kniffen began writing material while living together during their first years of college. The two worked on material for several months before scrapping it and heading in a somewhat different direction. Soon after, the duo picked up their third member, drummer Austin Carlson. With Austin the group came together over thanksgiving of 2006 to record songs for what was to become Silence and Photographs and the group suffered its first loss. Scott became a permanent resident of Utah as the fate of the band was undecided until late 2007 when Ely Falls gained guitarist Beau Hindman and Jenn Hanson was picked to fill the absence left by Scott. Shortly after the band recruited bassist Franky Colbert and the band was complete. They are currently booking shows and working on a new album to be released in mid-2008.

Ely Falls has been featured on The Bored-Again Christian podcast, has been a featured band on The Album Project, and has headlined shows with LiveWire recording artists The Winter Sounds and Des Moines bands Deified and Fighting for Kate.
