Bio
Influenced by Glenn Danzig to Fiona Apple, Mike Patton to Stevie Nicks, Elyse has been adding eclectic touches from all of her inspirations to her work. Determined not to be just another singer-songwriter with an acoustic guitar, she has evolved her sound from "a girl with a guitar" to a full out indie rock back up band. Starting off in San Francisco with producer and Grammy award winning songwriter Bonnie Hayes ("Have A Heart"), Elyse took off to Brooklyn. Brooklyn treated her well, as she had the opportunity to work with such producers as Lori Sprester (Honor Among Thieves, ARE Weapons) of Twin Spires Studio and musicians like Todd Sattefield of Your New Best Friend, Ken White of Comandante Zero and David Mac Fadden of Black Wednesday and Strong End Jook Joint. She and her band of indie rock heavyweights graced the stages of Lit Lounge, Piano's, Matchless and Blu, in New York City, to name a few. They teamed up with producer Davey La (James Blunt, Ambershades) and engineer George Dugan to create their latest recording, The Bridges EP, which was recording to 2 inch analog tape at Metrosonic Studios to 2 days. Since the release of Bridges, Elyse has moved back to her native San Francisco, and put together another great team of musicians and is currently working on new material for the next release, this time as a band, while performing at such venues in San Francisco as the Makeout Room, Hemlock Tavern, Rickshaw Stop and Hotel Utah.
