BandRockAlternative

Looks can be deceiving. Whenever Emberlight hits the stage people always have first impressions seeing a girl get on stage with a guitar and behind a mic. Its not until there opening song that people realize this band has a huge, tight and rockin' sound with big vocals and deep thundering guitars!

Biography

This female fronted band from Brampton, Ontario endured all the flak that can befall girls who disrupt the musical boy’s club. In this world of male fronted rock bands is slowly emerging a new voice of music, Emberlight.
..
Conceived in January 2009, the band started writing their own songs and in a short period of time had compiled a small arsenal of strong tunes. There is no easy way to describe the results other than to listen to Emberlight play live. In every performance there is a level of energy and passion that could be felt from the stage to the back of the venue. What better way to describe the thundering drums of Nix Chohan and power house bass of Josh Grant making the backbone and driving force behind the band, with the impassioned voice and high-gain guitar of Nicole Massarotto and screaming leads of Stan Kubrick together they push the limits of the audience with their musicianship and energy.
..
For the better part of the year the band kept themselves busy playing charity shows, festivals, Supernova Battle of the Bands and Canada Day celebrations at Chingacousy Park in Brampton. Emberlight released their debut EP “Something to Prove” on August 22, 2009. January 2010 Emberlight played at the Sound Academy at the Supernova Toronto City Finals before a huge crowd and competing against 34 other bands from across the GTA and parts of Southern Ontario and emerging as winners. In March of 2010 they played at CMW in Toronto and received excellent reviews. Along came NXNE in June opening for `Static in the Stars' from Vancouver and `Drive like Maria' from Belgium. In July Emberlight received their first nomination at the TIMA's for `Best Young Song Writers'. Stan Kubrick joined the band in September bringing a whole new dimension to the band with his talent, speed, techniques and song writing ability. Currently the band is writing on material for a LP due for release in the late Spring of 2011.
..
Make no mistake that Emberlight’s music, energy and passion will quickly catch your attention that will set them apart from other bands. They know how to reel in crowds and leave them gasping for more. This power band from Brampton have accomplished so much in so little time, have turned heads and caught the attention of some well known and respected people in the music industry. Look for more good things to happen in this coming year from these four young musicians...

Shot Me Down

Written By: Nicole Massarotto

Shot Me Down

Hey there darling what could I say, did you see me too?
‘Cause when I seen you the other day I knew I wanted you.
You’ve got such a hold on me baby, stay with me tonight.
You’re not just another pretty boy, who came into my sight.

(pre chorus)
Take me away to paradise.
And we’ll get lost until its right.

(chorus)
You have me aching for your love,
Like a devil from above.
You shot me down.
I would throw it all away
Just so I could hear you say,
You shot me down.

Got me wrapped around your finger, since you caught my eye.
And we can fall in love again, beneath this southern sky.

Take me away to paradise.
And we’ll get lost until its right.

(chorus)
You have me aching for your love,
Like a devil from above.
You shot me down.
I would throw it all away
Just so I could hear you say,
You shot me down.

Don't Let Go

Written By: Nicole Massarotto

DON’T LET GO

Can you save me one last time?
Please don’t leave oh love of mine,
I can’t forgive myself.

Didn’t mean to push you out,
I build you up you bring me down,
I can’t forgive myself.

How am I supposed to feel,
When you say it wasn’t real,
I can’t live with myself.

Where do you put all the hate
When you gave up on your faith?
I can’t live with myself

(chorus)
Please come back home (I cant be without you tonight)
Please don’t let go (Lets go back make it right)

Would you be my valentine?
We’ll eat the fruit and drink the wine.
I can’t forgive myself.

I fell for everything you are,
You used to be my shining star,
I can’t forgive myself.

(chorus)
Please come back home (Cant be without you tonight)
Please don’t let go (Let’s go back and make it right)
I still love you so (Won’t give up without a fight)
You’re all I know (Let’s go back and make it right)

Boys of Summer

Written By: Don Henley

"The Boys Of Summer"

Nobody on the road
Nobody on the beach
I feel it in the air
The summer's out of reach
Empty lake, empty streets
The sun goes down alone
I'm drivin' by your house
Though I know you're not at home

But I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
You got your hair combed back and your sunglasses on, baby
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone

I never will forget those nights
I wonder if it was a dream
Remember how you made me crazy?
Remember how I made you scream
Now I don't understand what happened to our love
But babe, when I get you back
I'm gonna show you what I'm made of

I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
I see you walkin' real slow and you're smilin' at everyone
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone

Out on the road today, I saw a BLACK FLAG sticker on a Cadillac
A little voice Inside my head said, "Don't look back. You can never look back."
I thought I knew what love was
What did I know?
Those days are gone forever
I should just let them go but-

I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
You got that top pulled down and that radio on, baby
And I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone

I can see you-
Your brown skin shinin' in the sun
You got that hair slicked back and those Wayfarers on, baby
I can tell you my love for you will still be strong
After the boys of summer have gone

A New Day

Written By: Nicole Massarotto

A New Day

It’s a new day,
And I feel fine, the air divine.
Would you please stay?
With me tonight, and hold me tight.
I can show you,
We don’t pretend, the love don’t end.
And when the night’s through,
We bring it in, and do it again.

(chorus)
So raise your glass and let it go,
Just relax and let the good times roll.
It’s the kind of feeling that we all know.
Ooh woah ooh woah woah
Ooh woah ooh woah woah
So raise youre glass and let it go,
Just relax and let the good times roll.
It’s the kind of feeling that we all know.
Ooh woah ooh woah woah
Ooh woah ooh woah woah

It’s a new day,
And I feel fine, the air divine.
Would you please stay?
With me tonight, and hold me tight.
I can show you,
We don’t pretend, the love don’t end.
And when the night’s through,
We bring it in, and do it again.

(chorus)
So raise your glass and let it go,
Just relax and let the good times roll.
It’s the kind of feeling that we all know.
Ooh woah ooh woah woah
Ooh woah ooh woah woah
So raise youre glass and let it go,
Just relax and let the good times roll.
It’s the kind of feeling that we all know.
Ooh woah ooh woah woah
Ooh woah ooh woah woah

The night’s coming down,
The boys are pulling in.
When the sun comes round,
We’re gonna’ do it again.
