"2009/02/23 This week let's discover embrained"

« A band that will surprise many acoustic music fans with a different sound. Again, Quebec City gives us an excellent indie acoustic rock band with a sound that really set them apart.[…] Their music is mature and solid. We immediately see they are experienced and serious musicians […] I really get into their music. […] This is definitely a band to watch.”

Bio

Embrained is the brand new Rock/folk acoustic project of singer/songwriter Jonathan Bergeron from Quebec City. Their main influences are Bright Eyes, Weakerthans and Coldplay. The debut EP “Save Myself” was released in November 2007 and got quickly noticed by the Indie local scene, Montreal’s Punkmeup.com reviewing embrained as “A band that will surprise many acoustic music lovers with a different sound. Again, Quebec City gives us an excellent indie acoustic rock band with a sound that really set them apart.[…] Their music is mature and solid. We immediately see they are experienced and serious musicians […] I really get into their music. […] This is definitely a band to watch.” As a lead vocalist and acoustic guitar player, Jonathan sometimes perform solo, sometimes with a complete band, teeming with drummer Mike Bélanger, electric guitarist Simon Labrecque, bassist Benoît Claveau and back-vocalist Nathalie Gilbert. With a great public response and their melodic rock sound, embrained hit the stage several times during 2008-2009 from Quebec, Montreal and Toronto and is now ready to record and release their first full length album.

Previously, Jonathan became with his former band Wideload, an active actor of Quebec’s rock scene. Winner of the CONGA contest (2002), he released two albums with the band, and managed to get airplay for six radio singles in Montreal and Quebec, reaching mainstream visibility on Musique Plus (Top 5) and Much Music (French Kiss) with single video “Transaction” in 2005. He performed opening acts for various artists including The New Cities, Matthew Good Band, Planet Smashers, SUM 41, American Hi-Fi, Theory of a Dead Man and was invited to the 2005 Quebec edition of the Van’s Warped Tour.
