Biography

www.EmiiOnline.com

Emii is a NYC-based singer and composer. Just 21 years-old, she has vocal chops that would rival the most experienced of R&B singers, with the rock sensibilities of bands like Incubus and The Offspring. She has gigged around New York, has released a well recieved EP, and is currently working on her full length album.

When Emii left her Youngstown, OH high school to be home-schooled so that she could spend more time on her budding music career, two things were obvious: her dedication to music, and her willingness to do things her own way. That strong personality cuts through in a vocal style uniquely her own, as well. Emii, who is classically trained, is a rocker at heart - but with a strong respect, and understanding for, R&B. The result is a truly original, modern voice.

Setting her sights on more than her hometown could offer, she moved to NYC last year. Here, she gathered a few first-rate musicians that could propel her musical vision forward.  Putting all of her efforts into rehearsing and writing, she managed to put together a live act that was just as (if not more) powerful than her recorded music-- which is an amazing feat in itself.

It’s not just her incredibly rangy voice, exotic looks and effortless stage presence that set Emii apart from most of her prepackaged peers. Her lyrics have an edge, energy –and depth- that belie her youth. When she sings “dance in the rain and race the lightning, just for once don’t try to reason; logic won’t help you, Breaking the rules sometimes is soothing to the soul” it’s moving... and with her band churning behind her, it is jarring.

They have been touring NYC and have amazed audiences with live shows at The Tribeca Film Festival, CBGB's, The Cutting Room, and the United Nations for The UN Relief Committee Tsunami Benefit. Her single, “Payback”, is getting heavy airplay on Brooklyn radio station 90.9 FM, and she was recently interviewed-- and also sang live- on Maxim Radio (Sirius Satellite Radio).

There’s no doubt that Emii has exactly what it takes to impact the entire world with her music.

Fall Out

Written By: Emii

Keeping your distance… proceeding with caution
Dangerous curves ahead, you might wanna watch your step
I’m angry at what once was… but curious as to what could be
It’s easy for me to take a chance on you-- but will you take a chance on me?

Don’t deny it, let it take you…

Don’t say it can’t be done
‘Cuz I did it on my own
Take my hand, we can both let go
Savoring every touch
I promise it won’t take much
Unlock your thoughts, let your secrets
Fall Out

Is it forbidden…. something unspoken?
Dance in the ran and race the lightning, just for once…
Don’t try to reason, logic won’t help you
Breaking the rules sometimes is soothing to the soul

Can’t control it, let it take you…

Don’t say it can’t be done
‘Cuz I did it on my own
Take my hand, we can both let go
Savoring every touch
I promise it won’t take much
Unlock your thoughts, let your secrets
Fall Out

Into my arms, I will save you
From a life too many know

Don’t say it can’t be done
‘Cuz I did it on my own
Take my hand, we can both let go
Savoring every touch
I promise it won’t take much
Unlock your thoughts, let your secrets..
Fall Out

There's a Fire Inside

Written By: Emii

It’s an uphill battle and it’s ten against one
Your burdens pull you down like a thousand tons
And you can only hope the war will soon be won

There’s something driving me… pushing me forward
It keeps reminding me what I’m here for

There’s a fire inside, it burns me alive,
This fire inside helps me survive...

If you stop to breathe, you may never reach the end
You pray along the way that you will find a helping hand
But you’re the only one who can pull yourself up again

There’s something giving me the strength to keep fighting
It’s there reminding me… I have to keep trying

There’s a fire inside, it burns me alive,
This fire inside helps me survive

It drives me, it guides me
This passion deep inside
This burning, this yearning…
It will not be denied

There’s a fire inside, it burns me alive,
This fire inside helps me survive

Everything of Me

Written By: Emii

What is underneath my skin… within this body I live in?
You want to know just who I am, but you may never understand.

Pull me inside out, so you might see the other parts of me
Take me all apart… you still won’t see everything of me.

Close your eyes and speak your mind… pretend that no one is around.
Is that the person you let shine… or don’t you let that person out?

Pull me inside out, so you might see the other parts of me
Take me all apart… you still won’t see everything of me.

Everything of me, everything I was, everything I am, everything I will be comes together as one…
You touch the surface of the ocean and you think you know
How deep it goes… but you’ll never know…

The picture is too big for the frame, don’t even try to classify
There’s always more than meets the eye… but what we hide is what remains inside

Pull me inside out, so you might see the other parts of me
Take me all apart… you still won’t see everything of me.

Save Me

Written By: Emii

I lie awake at night, no sleep will come tonight
Tomorrow’s work again… another day, a slave.
Again the same old thing—another damn routine
Sun and moon blur into one, and then the week is done

Save me, from this prison I call life
Rescue me, it’s just too much to sacrifice
Someone pull me away from this hell where I remain
I need more than this routine, this life is killin’ me
Someone save me

From workin nine to five, I barely stay alive
It eats me away inside, just struggling to get by
The dreams, they try to fade.. I somehow make them stay
They give me hope and faith that I’ll be free someday

Save me, from this prison I call life
Rescue me, it’s just too much to sacrifice
Someone pull me away from this hell where I remain
I need more than this routine, this life is killin’ me
Someone save me

Well, we can pray for the end… just stay with me, my friend
Together we’ll pretend we’re one step closer to where we wanna be

Save me, from this prison I call life
Rescue me, it’s just too much to sacrifice
Someone pull me away from this hell where I remain
I need more than this routine, this life is killin’ me
Someone save me

Takin' Over

Written By: Emii

I tried to play nice. I tried to give you respect
But for every kindness I paid… well, I got nothin’ back.
Why don’t you listen to me? Your friends, they all agree…

Cloud nine is way too bright
Now you’re too blind to see
If you want to reign on high,
You’ll have to bury me…
I’m takin’ over.

Your problem is beyond fixin’… I gotta put you down
Take you off of your selfish throne… Rid you of your mighty crown

When all is said and done, you never cared for anyone
I’m sorry, Ms. Bitch-of-the-year, but you’re not welcome here

Cloud nine is way too bright
Now you’re too blind to see
If you want to reign on high,
You’ll have to bury me…
I’m takin’ over.

By the way… all I really have to do is wait
Don’t even have to try… You’ll bring yourself down in no time

Cloud nine is way too bright
Now you’re too blind to see
If you want to reign on high,
You’ll have to bury me…
I’m takin’ over.

Payback

Written By: Emii

You wanna talk about it now, but your words are more than I can allow
You don’t seem to know what I’m about… get out of my way
You were never there for me before-- I was once the one that you’d ignore
When I needed you, you’d run out the door
There’s nothing more to say

Don’t act like my friend
You’re nothing to me
You showed no respect
I will grant you the same sweet treatment
I finally made it
You can’t just come back
Expecting the best
You always gave me your worst and this is
Payback

After everything that we’ve been through, you seem to think that I somehow need you
What on earth did you expect me to do… just give up and die?
Time has passed and now that I’ve moved on, you turned around and found that I was gone
‘Cuz I realized that you were wrong
There’s nothing more to say

Don’t act like my friend
You’re nothing to me
You showed no respect
I will grant you the same sweet treatment
I finally made it
You can’t just come back
Expecting the best
You always gave me your worst and this is

Don’t try to tell me that you’re sorry… I’m not the one who brought us down
I tried so hard with you, until you showed your true colors
And now there’s nothing you can say or do to win me over

Don’t act like my friend
You’re nothing to me
You showed no respect
I will grant you the same sweet treatment
I finally made it
You can’t just come back
Expecting the best
You always gave me your worst and this is
