Bio

Incredibly, since spontaneously being signed practically on-the-spot in her hometown of New Orleans by a visiting NY A&R rep, Emilia has been developing her upcoming full-length album alongside some of the most cutting edge music innovators and songwriter in the country. Immediately following the initial “discovery”, Nudgie Records flew Emilia to New York and put her in the studio with London-based modern global music pioneer TJ Rehmi, as well as living legend Walter Becker of Steely Dan and Rick Allen from Def Leppard

Being a New Orleans resident Emilia was intensely affected by Hurricane Katrina. Having over 10 feet of water in her house and loosing all of her possession she relocated to Seattle to be close to her old friend and manager, Brent McCrossen. Shortly after her arrival to Seattle, Emilia flew to the U.K. to continue working with TJ Rehmi on the full length album and also enlisted up-and-coming phenom-drummer / producer Kevin Sawka (Siamese, KJ Sawka) as well as drum legend, Michael Shrieve (Santana) to bust out future driven beats. Since relocating to Seattle Emilia has worked with Shawn Smith of the Seattle band, Brad and Satchel and was hired by Michael Shrieve (Santana) to lay down vocal tracks on a song he had recorded many years ago with Elvin Jones and Bill Frisell. The results are stunning

Nudgie records released an EP in October, 2006. This will be followed by the release of the full-length record in July 2007. All U.S. distribution is through Warner and her U.K. Publishing and distribution is through Peter Gabriel’s record label, Real World Records.
