Bio

Emilio Basa is a singer/songwriter from the Detroit area. His sound is a mixture of pop, folk, and funk. He has been compared to Jeff Buckley, Tracy Chapman, Jason Mraz, and Jack Johnson. His mission is to keep making music with his distinct sound and collaborating with other artists.

Since childhood, Emilio has been trained in piano, violin and voice. Over the years he developed into a thriving force in the music industry. Emilio released a collection of his recordings from his years of dedicated commitment to living his dream of being an artist. He debuted his first album "2000 - 2003 Compilation". Top of the World was written about a night at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival that was foiled by a rain storm. Obsession is a fast paced song about obsessing over someone. In his song Fade, he talks about fading in the eyes of an old love. His music is a story in itself.

Since his first release, Emilio has been involved with many different projects. Primer, included Dave Hable and Antonio Saranillo. Resident Alien with Chris Bokmuller and Dave Woomer. Green Eyed Red with Scott Brooks, Rick "Charming" Smith, and Justin Dietrich, and Selfmeyi with Annie Booker just to name a few. He finished recording his 2nd album "To the End" in 2007 and is currently working on his 3rd solo album exploring other genres to incorporate into it. "I love all kinds of music. I'm constantly trying to push myself to not make the same sound over and over again. That's why I like working on all kinds of projects because that works influences my solo music also."

Emilio Basa is an artist that lives breathes and loves his craft. With all the new terms being thrown around, it is hard to hold Emilio to a specific style. One thing you can call it is a style all his own.
