EMILY ELLISON MUSIC FOR CHILDREN! Making Folk Music Fun for Little Folks
224 Davis Avenue
Staten Island, NY 10310
347-589-3225

Kids rave “Emily is Awesome!”, “You’re Mary Poppins!” You’re like angels singin’!” One little feller thinks she’s SO good he wants to eat her up! One little lassie thrills, “If you were my mother, I’d never let you go!”

Ellison is a 2007 “Excellence in Performance” Award Winning children’s music performer and a music and art teacher in New York City.  With a Master’s Degree in Childhood Education tucked in her bag of tricks, she thrills her pint sized fans with fun filled family sing along programs at the New York Public Libraries, The Queen’s Library, The JCC of Staten Island, The Staten Island Children’s Museum, The Staten Island Zoo, Saranac Lake Public Library and scores of schools across the city.

Emily and her husband, Mark, have just completed their first full length children’s music CD entitled “Sing Your Way Home.” The CD will be available in the Spring of 2011.

Ellison shines as she seamlessly glides between guitar, ukulele, and djembe to enthrall her audiences with her heartwarming participatory shows.  A Michigan transplant in her 20th year of “New York livin’,” this Staten Island mom of three sings her own rollicking songs for the pre school and school age set and folk songs from around the world. She speaks and sings in English and Spanish, specializes in American folk for children, spirituals, and international children’s folk songs. She surprises with songs in American Sign Language, French, Spanish, Chinese, Swahili, and Hebrew. Her participatory program is ?guaranteed to make you sweat and smile. Parents rave, “What can’t she do?”

Her music is enchanting as is her ability to tickle the vocal chords and imaginations of over 300 students in her ongoing weekly music programs.  Her resume bursts with 11 years teaching music and art in a curriculum she developed called “Children Sing and Celebrate Around the World.” She teaches typically developing hearing and deaf, deaf-blind, mentally retarded, autistic, learning disabled and english and non english language learners ages 0 - 13.

If you’d like the children you love to delight in singing, strumming, drumming, stomping and bopping,  hurry up and call her before that little boy gobbles her up!
