Bio

It is turning out to be quite a year already for West Monroe, LA native Emily Hrivnak. She graduated from high school, turned 18 years old and signed a recording contract with indie label Vitality Records. One listen to Emily and it is clear, that she is going to be a force in the music industry for years to come.
Her soulful, almost earthy vocal delivery is the perfect match for the blues-rock that has become her trademark. Emily’s voice is also well-equipped to tackle new country as well. She is able to be strong-willed on country-pop and sentimental on piano-based ballads. Time and time again, she adds an emotional depth to the material that is very rare for such a young woman.
Since moving to Nashville this past fall, Emily has had a chance to play at many venues including a regular opportunity at Gibson Guitar Showcase. She performs every month at Gibson as part of the Blues Jam. According to Emily, the experience at Gibson has been a very rewarding experience. “Performing there over the past year I have been able to get more comfortable on stage and I really feel my voice has matured immensely as well.” When asked recently about what motivates her about performing Emily was very candid, “I get to express myself and touch people through singing a song. I really love being able to reach someone that way.”
Last month, she recorded her debut cd at renowned Hilltop Recording Studio in Nashville, TN where she got backed by studio musicians that have played on cd's by Reba McEntire and Travis Tritt. Emily is currently writing more songs and learning guitar to give her music a more naturalistic sound. “I want to write a lot about relationships and some of the situations I went through growing up in a small town.” “It’s important to me to be able to sing songs that truly mean something.”
