Emily Turner

Emily was born in Las vegas to jazz musician parents. Bred on a diet of music legends of jazz and motown, she began creating her repitoire at 3 and convinced her parents to let her sing (all 3 songs in that repitoire) at Hugh Hefner's playboy Club in Lake Geniva in 1978, at age 4. That was it, it was in the bones and she started singing and fronting bands, duos, working as a backing vocalist and as a studio session singer from age 17. She began writing and studying the craft of lyric writing at 18 and at 22 she landed a song publishing deal with Warner/Chappel music and had a major cut here and in the U.S with pop/rock artist Marie Wilson. For the past 7 years she has been honing her skills as a jazz/soul soul vocalist and working on writing for her first solo album. She has come back from a break in the live scene having made the transition from maiden to mother, and has aqured some fresh musical influences and ideas about what makes her tick both as a human and a musician. Armed and ready with a album's worth of new songs she is getting ready to cut her first solo album.
