"Metal Insider Eminence Music Video"

Brazilian thrash band Eminence have been compared to Sepultura, on account of they’re Brazilian and a thrash band. An appearance on their sophomore album The Stalker from Sepultura bassist Paulo Roberto Diniz, Jr. will only lead to more comparisons, but that’s not a bad thing, because like early Sepultura, they’re putting out some high quality metal. Take, for example, their video for ”Unfold,” which premiered on Crave Online today. There’s some pretty creepy footage mixed in with the band playing a surprisingly airy warehouse. If you like what you hear, you can check out some more music on their Soundcloud page. - Metal Insider

"Eminence THE STALKER Reviewed"

Published on September 8th, 2013
untitledWith the release of their first album since 2008’s “The God Of All Mistakes” Eminence are back with a new release. ”The Stalker” is an album that boasts pure melodic fury with a heaviness that will knock your face in. The album opens with “Self-Rejection”. The introduction sets a pace that carries all the way through to the last song “Visions of Hate”. Bruno Paraguay is heavy in his vocal style but carries it well enough to actually let you understand the lyrics.

Eleven songs in total are what you get from this well produced release. Danish producer Tue Madsen (Moonspell, The Haunted, Sick Of It All) takes on production duties and brings that energy that we came come to see on his past works. For me a producer can make or even break an album. I have a lot of respect for bands that use proven winners for their records. Its shows that sometimes you need to let the right people in to do the job. A lot of bands try to self produce but aren’t up to the task. They often take great music and ruin a release with poor production. This album would have worked no matter what but the crisp production value of “The Stalker” makes it a winner.

Hailing from Brazil “Eminence” are a four piece melodic metal band that has been around since 1995. With a few demos and albums under their belts Eminence are back and are ready to bring the full assault. If Sepultura is the first thing you think about when you hear the word metal and Brazil you would be right in thinking about a connection. From ex band members who used to play in the band to long time Sepultura bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr contributing three songs to the album. Sepultura has been a major influence for many bands in the world but none more for these zillian country-mates who have a direct connection to the band.

Though there are many similarities to Sepultura in the speed and energy of their music Eminence take on their own style with some unique death metal style guitar riffs provided by Alan Wallace, and some of the most insane pig squeals I have heard since having my face melted by the Italian grindcore band “Necrotorture”.

Eminence brings the right energy that rides the line of an all-most death metal sound, with some speed thrown in. You will enjoy this band if you are looking for something to bring some brutality into your day. Bio

Brazilian metal outfit Eminence’s new album, The Stalker, marks its first album since 2008’s highly regarded The God Of All Mistakes. The Stalker finds Eminence’s extreme approach to melodic metal pushed even further than before. It’s an album that Metal Sucks declared would “good-naturedly brass-knuckle your ass into the ground.”

Recorded at Minerio de Ferro Studios in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, The Stalker reunites Eminence with Danish producer Tue Madsen (Moonspell, The Haunted, Sick of It All). “He is a great producer and a good friend of the band,” explains guitarist/founding member Alan Wallace.

“We spent an entire year producing this album, and worked really hard together to make The Stalker become a reality.” The album also boasts a guest appearance from Sepultura bassist and longtime friend Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. on three tracks, including “Veins of Memories,” which received its world premiere from Revolver Magazine. “It was a great pleasure to once again work with my dear friend,” says Wallace, who also plays with the Sepultura bassist in the Brazilian metal project The Unabomber Files. The Stalker also features a guest appearance
from bassist Paulo Roberto Diniz,(aka PJ) of famed Brazilian pop rock band Jota Quest on the song “Unfold.”

Upon its release in the summer of 2013, The Stalker earned high praise from metal’s top tastemakers, with Metal Injection praising the work as a “solid mix of death metal and groove goodness, without bordering into nu-metal nonsense.” “As far as brutal and melodic albums go so far this year, you’ll be hard-pressed to find something better than Eminence’s new album,”declared Metal Insider”, who teamed up with the band to offer The Stalker as a free download.

Formed in 1995, Eminence quickly cultivated a strong following in the metal underground scene of their home country and in Europe. The group made its live U.S. debut in the autumn of 2012 during New York’s CMJ Music Marathon, performing on a boat with metal icons Prong. That performance led The Village Voice to declaring Eminence as “a band to watch.” The band made a triumphant return to the States in spring 2012 at SXSW, with plans for a proper North American tour in the works. Before that, though, Eminence will embark on a European headlining tour.

Eminence consists of:

Alan Wallace (guitars)
Bruno Paraguay (vocals)
