I am a young midwestern native looking to team up with a musician who will put some music to my lyrics. As a writer I write of heart felt experiences that I have gone through, leading with love. My heart speaks to the paper when I write, flowing into beautiful words and witty stories.

Biography

I have recently turned my hobby of poetry into pure passion. I love music and like many others use it as therapy. If I need a boost during the day, I turn on my favorite music. If I need some inspiration, I tune into the radio and somehow find an inspiring song instantly. I can tie certain songs to important past events in my life and whenever I hear them it brings a big smile to my face. All of these positive and meaningful emotions can be created through music, how awesome is that?! When the light went on in my head, I finally realized that I can be a part of this. I have been writing poetry as a hobby since I was in grade school always steming from my heart. I changed the format around a little, and wah lah! I had lyrics. This has been very exciting for me, I really enjoy capturing my emotions on paper. I have just started looking for someone to co-write with. I know with the right teamwork my lyrics will be stick in your head type hits! I have figured that my lyrics would be best suited in country/pop music, but I am open to any suggestions :-)

Falling Hard

Written By: Melissa M Janson

VERSE 1
Today I saw the picture from the booth at the mall,
It's hanging on my fridge , I'm looking at it right now,
I think of how I smile at the funny things you do,
How you made me fall in love with every piece of you.

CHORUS #1
You show me where the weightroom is, tuck me in real tight,
You let me wear your t-shirt, especially if it's white,
Always rub my shoulders,
as long as they are bare,
Wash me in the shower, you promise you don't care.

VERSE 2
The first time that we kissed you took my breath away,
Making out like we were 16, I laughed the whole next day,
It's sweet the way you tell your friends, look she's the one,
Dear Lord, I'm falling hard, my life has now begun.

CHORUS #2
You show me where the weightroom is, tuck me in real tight,
You let me wear your t-shirt, especially if it's white,
Always rub my shoulders,
as long as they are bare,
Wash me in the shower, you promise you don't care.

I can't wait for the big day, get down on one knee,
I want to be your wife, that's who I want to be,

CHORUS #3
You show me where the weightroom is, tuck me in real tight,
You let me wear your t-shirt, especially if it's white,
Always rub my shoulders,
as long as they are bare,
Wash me in the shower, you promise you don't care.

Superman

Written By: Melissa M Janson

VERSE 1
My heart is black & blue, my mind is uncontrolled
But the love that you have shown me is all I want to know
You make me feel alive again when you look me in my eyes
This moment truly matters when you kiss and hold me tight.

CHORUS #1
Are you my superman in street clothes
Clark Kent at my right side
Love me like I’m Lois Lane, but please don’t ever hide
Save me from all evil, you’ve swept me off my feet
Please be my superman and make my life complete

VERSE 2
It’s hard to fake a smile when you heart is black & blue
It’s easy to get lost and not know what to do
But this bruise is quickly fading & my mind is thinking straight
All my past was meant to be, because this is my fate

CHORUS #1
Are you my superman in street clothes
Clark Kent at my right side
Love me like I’m Lois Lane, but please don’t ever hide
Save me from all evil, you’ve swept me off my feet
Please be my superman and make my life complete

BRIDGE
Lucky is how I feel today, I have a big smile on my face
I’m hand in hand with superman, he’s made my heart complete

CHORUS #2
You are my superman in street clothes,
Clark Kent’s at my right side
You love me like I’m Lois Lane, but please don’t ever hide
You’ve saved me from all evil, swept me off my feet
Honey, you’re my superman, you’ve made my life complete

Baby You're Makin' This Easy

Written By: Melissa M Janson

You tell me you're in love
But it's okay if I want to leave
Baby I don't understand you
It's like you don't want to fight for me

But baby you're makin' this easy
Even if I don't want to leave, I might go
Cause baby you're makin' this easy
There's no fight in your heart left to show

It's true that I've been thinking
If I could move on without you
I don't know if I could do it
How could I tell you that its through

But baby you're makin' this easy,
Even if I don't want to leave, I might go
Cause baby you're makin' this easy
To leave you and your over sized ego

You tell me to pick up my things,
And if I'm not sure, only take some
How can I believe that you love me
When this is what its become

So baby you're makin' this easy
I'll pick up my things and you'll see
That baby you're makin' this easy
You'll have to move on without me

I wish you could suck up your ego
And tell me you want me to stay
Cause baby it wouldn't be easy
If I woke up without you one day

Baby don't make this easy
Tell me you want me to stay
Cause baby it wouldn't be easy
If I woke up without you one day

One Man Army

Written By: Melissa M Janson

Today I woke up single with a wine glass in my hand,
Got a screamin' headache, I didn't have this planned.
My eyes are red and swollen, that ain't stoppin' me,
Last night I tossed the garbage, now I'm fresh and free!

Chorus
I'm a one man army wrecking crew,
Last night I rid myself of you.
With guns a blazin' I took a shot
You didn't see it, boy you got caught
Thanks for showing what I couldn't see,
The truth that finally set me free.

Yesterday you called at five, said you'd be working late
You'd have to take a raincheck, couldn't make our date.
I said I understood, can't always have my way
Then I saw you at the bar, my choice without delay.

Chorus
I'm a one man army wrecking crew,
Last night I rid myself of you.
With guns a blazin' I took a shot
You didn't see it, boy you got caught
Thanks for showing what I couldn't see,
The truth that finally set me free.

You were gazing in her eyes, your arm around her back,
You probably have her fooled, hope she's everything I lack.
But I'm glad I saw you there, with your colors shining bright,
Cheers to find an honest man, cause we are done tonight!

Chorus
I'm a one man army wrecking crew,
Last night I rid myself of you.
With guns a blazin' I took a shot
You didn't see it, boy you got caught
Thanks for showing what I couldn't see,
The truth that finally set me free.

Believe Me Now

Written By: Melissa M Janson

My momma called me a prodigy,
She said that she could see
One day I'd make a million,
A millionaire I'd be.

My daddy told me no, don't do it
Impossible and I should quit.
There's no way you'll make a million
No way you'll write a hit.

Do you believe me now?
Believe I did it somehow
I made a million dollars
With an unsupportive father
As you hear this song,
Know that you were wrong,
Dad, know that you were wrong.

Look at all the great things you missed,
I made the top forty hit list.
With a song written of you,
A song I couldn't resist

Do you believe me now?
Believe I did it somehow
I made a million dollars
With an unsupportive father
As you hear this song,
Know that you were wrong,
Dad, know that you were wrong.

I wish your faith was my success,
Faith in your little princess,
It hurts to know you didn't,
Believe I was the best.

Do you believe me now?
Believe I did it somehow
I made a million dollars
With an unsupportive father
As you hear this song,
Know that you were wrong,
Dad, know that you were wrong.

Telephone

Written By: Melissa M Janson

I'm always the bad guy
The truth is untold
Like I live in a high school
Five thousand rumors explode
I'm tempted to quiet them
I just don't know how
Wipe smirks off their faces
End with a bow.

Telephone, telephone, have you ever played that game?
Where truth is untold, rumors untamed.
I whispered a lullaby, it turned into hate
Now they stare at me smirking, predicting my fate.
Telephone, telephone what have you done?
These rumors so big, there's nowhere to run.

This high school is growing, Everyone's getting weak
No one has their own voice, not even their feet
Don't look in their eyes, don't listen to whispers
You'll get sucked in the dark, the voices get bigger

Telephone, telephone have you ever played that game?
Where the truth is untold, rumors untamed.
I whispered a lullaby, it turned into hate
Now they stare at me smirking, predicting my fate
Telephone telephone what have you done?
These rumors so big, there's nowhere to run.

I'm fighting the stares, whispers, and glares.
Telephone telephone I no longer care.
You can have your high school, your rumors, and lies
I'll start walking forward, my head help up high

Telephone telephone, have you ever played that game?
Where the truth is untold, rumors untamed.
I whispered a lullaby, it turned into hate
Strength has me laughing, predicting my fate
Telephone telephone, im stronger today
Telephone, telephone I'm walking away.
Telephone, telephone I'm walking away
