Bio

I am a Swedish singer/songwriter with my roots in Båstad, Laholm and Halmstad (southwest Sweden). I grew up listening to Motown and I began writing songs at the age of nine. In my early teens I discovered Janis Joplin and Fleetwood Mac, which influenced me to learn the guitar. Soon after that, I first heard Nirvana and their music fueled me to quickly learn and perform all of their songs, as well as they were inspiring me to represent that energy in my own writing. I formed an all girl band, “Wild Cherry”, when I was fifteen, and it was then I started to develop my songwriting more. At sixteen, I attended a Art Performance School in Halmstad, Sweden, to study music theater. A year later I decided to go to Los Angeles as an exchange student in my senior year of High School. I immersed myself in the culture and music scene of Los Angeles, playing the viper room, the Roxy and the Whiskey, and I continued performing and writing songs. Soon I was discovered by Scott Weiland (Stone Temple Pilots, Velvet revolver) who liked my voice and songs. He and his partner Douglas Grean produced my demo at Lavish Studios 2002-2003.

In February, 2004, I competed in and won he Ted Gärdestad ( a well known Swedish singer/songwriter) scholarship, a national contest for unsigned singers/songwriters. My victory afforded me an opportunity to tour Sweden, performing with many noted musicians like Benny Anderson from ABBA.

My closest plans are to complete the recordings of my record with producer Steve Griffen. Some of the songs of the album are going to be featured on the TV show "Dirt" starring Courtney Cox.
