Hey, I’m Emma. I’m 18 years old and have been singing for as long as I can remember. But I only picked up the guitar a couple of years ago when I was bored one summer! I learned through watching YouTube videos and was soon able to cover some of my favourite songs.
Having only learnt a few chords, I wrote my first song inspired by the realisation that this was something I wanted to pursue; my pas
sion for music was growing. When I performed this song to an audience for the first time (with little knowledge of whether it was good or bad!) I was overwhelmed by the response I received, spurring me on to write many more songs.
Fast forward two years, I was spotted by my now manager, Paul, whilst busking on the streets of Exeter. With his help, along with the support of my family and friends, I am ever closer to achieving my ambition of being a successful singer-songwriter.
In the last few months, I’ve been up to London, gaining inspiration from watching established artists perform in some awesome venues – some favourites being Emeli Sandé at Koko Bar and Fatou at Rough Trade East .
My highlight so far has to be the recording of my debut single, ‘Caught Up’, at Red Triangle Studios with the brilliant Rick Parkhouse, George Tizzard and Phil Tennant – love what we’ve achieved together! Am currently having a great time working on the music video for the single with my friends, which can be previewed on my Facebook Page.
‘Caught Up’ was released 8th July - can’t wait for you all to hear it! Also, check out my Gig Dates, would be cool to see some of you there.
